Tonight's game. An eerie similarity.

I imagine that most here are not that interested in the details to read the following article, it being about the Bulls and their coach Fred Hoiberg, but it highlights an errily similar situation in Chicago to the Nuggets situation here in Denver.

http://www.chicagonow.com/chicago-bulls-confidential/2017/02/fred-hoibergs-former-strengths-are-now-some-of-his-biggest-weaknesses/

In brief, Hoiberg - with no NBA coaching experience but a long career as a player as well as having NBA FO experience - was expected to bring his high powered, 3 point shooting Iowa State offense to the Bulls, replacing the defense first, last and always style of Tom Thibideau .

As we know, Malone, with minimal NBA head coaching experience, was expected to bring his defense first mindset to Denver replacing the run-n-gun offense of George Karl.

After 1 and 2/3 seasons, they are both epic fails in their so-called areas of expertise.

If you read the above article, you will find the author's explanation of Hoiberg's problems virtually identical to the situation with Malone here in Denver.

The one advantage the Nuggets have is that Malone only got a 4 year deal with the fourth year being a Nuggets option while the dummies in Chicago gave Hoiberg a 5 year,25 million dollar contract while still owing Thibideau 2 years on his deal.
