Remember when: Mudiay vs. Russell?
2 years ago, just after the draft and lasting for most of that season, Denver & LA fans debated about Mudiay vs. Russell. So far it looks like Russell has won the war, as is probably expected since he was such a high draft pick. On the other hand, consider that both of these players are being considered as trade options this off season. Denver fans are familiar with Mudiay's difficulties. Russell on the other hand has proven to be more of a SG than PG - in the opinion of many, not all. He's also not considered at the same level as the top-2 picks of this year's draft.

Russell was supposed to be the most NBA ready player in his draft, Mudiay fell to 7th overall because they knew that he was at least a 2 year project, I would say that the debate is far from over considering what thought before they were even drafted.

I'd still to this day take Russell over Mudiay.
His ceiling is just way higher.
The thing that I wasn't aware of when we drafted Mudiay was his complete lack of basic basketball instincts. For whatever reason he makes everything harder for himself. His career in Denver so far feels like we are being forced to teach him all the basics of basketball.
