AI was easily a proven franchise player that was sent home for having a bad attitude, he never quit on his team, he never walked out of a game, he just talked **** to the coaches. We got him for Andre Miller, cap relief, and 2 future picks, attitude adds or subtracts from value, quitting on your team is a huge red flag and costs value. We screwed up by waiting to long to trade Nurkic, but given the facts of the ways things got those last couple of weeks it is ridiculous to complain about the package we got.

You're right but Nurkic deal HURT Denver. He really helped Portland to reaching the PO, Portland got one extra pick and was able to move up in a good draft and select a better propect (I assume) than denver despite making the post season and add experience to a young core...
Let's say denver simply benched Nurkic instead of trading him, "we" wuold reach the PO (lose 4-0 to GS), had an extra pick and be able to move up in the draft or even get Butler from Chicago.

Nurkic trade was simply the worst trade in the last five (at least) year of denver nuggets.

"Injury prone" so the Nuggets traded him? Really? I'm thinking about some other Nuggets that are even more injury prone and haven't been traded.

"Can't control weight"? Really? Seems to me last off-season he stayed in Denver, working with Hess and lost serious weight. Jokic seemed in more need of losing weight this past season than Nurkic (which he has now done).

Nurkic was traded pure and simple because of his attitude. He's very competitive and does not deal well with being "handled". I'm on record as believing he could have worked out for Denver but even not liking the trade, I'll admit we do not truly know what was going on behind the scenes. I'll stick to my belief Malone couldn't deal with Nurkic's attitude and the front office seems to fully back their coach, so the deal was struck --- I'm also on record as thinking we overpaid as well. But Nurkic was not trade because of injuries or weight. Those are just weak attempts to justify IMO.

Nurkic is the larger human being , just look at his big wide legs, the more pressure he put on his body the more likely he will get hurt , he was hurt in Europe, in Denver now in Portland that's not coincidence, he missed significant playing time wherever he played so far in his career . I don't wish him an injury but the fact is he will always be a risk health wise. Jokic never had problems with ankles, foot etc. in his career . I am just saying that not everything is perfect with Nurkic. Nurkic was traded because he sucked in Denver simply as that. He showed lots of promise in his rookie season, but after that there was an injury and very bad performances on the court.

Did Nurk have to go? Sure....Did he have to go to Portland? Hell no, he's going to be a thorn in our side for years to come.

He's overrated , few weeks of good play won't change my mind, I seen him struggle a lot without all star caliber teammates, in Denver and Bosnian NT team . Until he play entire season and prove he can stay healthy and productive , I reserve the right of my initial opinion about him.

I would agree that trading him to Portland was not the best idea, especially for what we got back, but for some reason the Nuggets always seem to worry about trading guys somewhere that they will be happy.
