AI was easily a proven franchise player that was sent home for having a bad attitude, he never quit on his team, he never walked out of a game, he just talked **** to the coaches. We got him for Andre Miller, cap relief, and 2 future picks, attitude adds or subtracts from value, quitting on your team is a huge red flag and costs value. We screwed up by waiting to long to trade Nurkic, but given the facts of the ways things got those last couple of weeks it is ridiculous to complain about the package we got.
You're right but Nurkic deal HURT Denver. He really helped Portland to reaching the PO, Portland got one extra pick and was able to move up in a good draft and select a better propect (I assume) than denver despite making the post season and add experience to a young core...
Let's say denver simply benched Nurkic instead of trading him, "we" wuold reach the PO (lose 4-0 to GS), had an extra pick and be able to move up in the draft or even get Butler from Chicago.
Nurkic trade was simply the worst trade in the last five (at least) year of denver nuggets.
