Defensive Quarterback?

Post#1 » by NuggetsWY » Fri Jul 7, 2017 11:26 am

Which Nuggets' player is going to be calling the signals on the defensive end of the court? Draymond Green might be the best or at least most well-known defensive play caller in the NBA today. Not every team has or even needs someone calling out defensive plays, but it can help a team play better defense.

Jokic? Doesn't seem like the right personality.
Millsap? Seems to have the defensive side of the ball down but is he one that will direct everyone? I hope so.
Chandler? He's been good one-on-one and he switches well, but he doesn't seem to be the one to tell everyone else what to do.

One of the guards? Not sure any of them have that temperament and defense seems to be best controlled by a low-post defender so they can see everyone on the court easier.

Let's go one step further; is their a bench player that will be orchestrating the bench defense? It's a skill that needs to be learned.

Lyles? Not sure
Lydon? Perhaps not as a rookie, but down the road? Not sure
Hernangomex? Probably not
