Malone is so generous to him in minutes, but so cruel to Lyles. Tonight I even feel sorry for Trey which is so pissed when Malone replaced him 3 minutes before the end of the match. Lyles wanted so much tonight to make a career-first 30+ game vs his former team. I don't know is Malone blind, or he doing such things intentionally (but on which purpose?), like these two triple-doubles which he stole from Joker early this season.

Plumlee deal is a big mistake (in terms of $$$ amount) and if we repeat the same overpaying mistake with another role player, it would damage our future. 4/52 for PF backup sounds good only if the name of that PF bench player is Trey Lyles and if we finally trade Faried. Lyles is young, and he can improve into good PF starter after the end of Millsap contract. Our biggest target this summer must be some good SF player, so when he comes, Chandler time in Denver will be over (and we also must develop Juancho).

Malone is all about Malone. He will say that he felt a player had enough, so he pulled him late in the game. He might say he was oblivious, but I doubt it.

Definitely makes you wonder what kind of rotation a coach like Pop or Kerr would do with this team ??

I wonder if Millsap is the guy who gets traded instead of Faried. Lyles has been outplaying Millsap so far this season and Millsap will only hurt Lyles minutes/development. 30 millon for Millsap is an awful contract for a big man shooting under 45% and the Nuggets could use him to upgrade their SF spot. Trade Millsap for Wiggins and a pick and hope he can turn it around like Lyles.

I'd be very surprised if Millsap gets traded this year (or even next), bad business to trade away your first true high profile free agent coming to a mid-market team like the Nuggets. Lyles has been impressive but he'll continue to get better and learn from Millsap. Given what it appears Lyles is turning into, I can foresee Lyles starting in 2019.

It may be bad business but when he was signed I don't think the Nuggets had any Idea how good Lyles would be. It seems ridiculous to keep paying someone 30 million a year and hurting the development of someone who is arguably better already just to protect an image. Nuggets have a solid core with the exception of SF and Millsap is the guy that could get you a young SF to fill that hole. Also, Faried is a pretty decent backup so it would solve that Issue too.

For those questioning Jokic, you guys have to go to a game and sit close enough to see what is going on away from the ball. Jokic is getting the crap beat out of him and the refs are looking the other way. Malone just shakes his head doesn't even bother to question the refs. Hell it just seems like everybody on the Nuggets just accept it, no retaliation talking to the refs everybody acted like nothing was going on. Every since that bull elbow incident Jokic is being mugged.

Murray and Harris were great, but man does Barton love to have the ball in his hands, it bugs me at home, but watch it in front of you and it will drive you crazy.

The only thing that Plumlee really brings is tri hard, the guy can dribble and he is a solid passer, but he is not a good help defender, does not have the size or strength to be a low post defender, and he is not a scorer.

Faried has checked out, it was obvious before and during the game, yet he brings everything when he gets minutes, and the problem is that I have yet to hear or see a coherent argument on why Plumlee and Chandler are getting minutes over Faried. He has to be traded at this point, and I hope they are not being stupid and waiting for the perfect deal again.

Speaking of Chandler early in the game he was playing great defense, but by the end he was getting lazy as hell. I wonder if that vegan diet has affected his stamina, and that is the real problem? We all know Malone has overplayed Chandler the last 18 months, and sadly I think if he was getting 5 less minutes a game he would be much more effective night after night.

Lyles is great, but he is young, there were a couple of times where he tried to hard and screwed it up but he can play and I think he still has some pretty solid potential to get better.

Craig can defend, he seemed to get in everybodies head that he guarded, and he was not dirty about it. Just straight tough defense.

For those wanting to know why Jokic wasn't going to the low post, you need to ask Malone that. At least 3 times I watched Malone scream at Jokic and have him stand at the 3 point line. IT was obvious before the game that Jokic's shot was off and Jokic knew it, and he kept trying to go into the low post to have Malone pull him out of there to make room for Plumlee to camp and the guards driving.

I really wanted to see Donovan Mitchel, all the hype on the kid and I have maybe watched 6-8 games of his this season. I was really not impressed. He really struggled against Harris and Murray both, against Barton it seemed to be easier for him. There were multiple times that he brought the ball down the court and saw Harris or Murray was guarding him and he passed the ball off and almost backed out of the play.

Richard Jefferson was in Murray and Beasley's ears at different times during the warmups both before the game and at half time, I think he is helping both guys considerably, although I wish we still had Mike Miller as well since he was in Jokic's ear all the time like that.

NuggetsWY I must say that you had to point out that Malone spends very little time talking to his assistants or players during timeouts and such, and there were several times where he was off by himself ignoring everybody.

One other thing, the Pepsi Center was about half full tonight, I know the Jazz are not a good team, but that is terrible for a Friday night. My son was completely entertained for the entire game with their entertainment, I understand the costs are terrible, but the Nuggets need to do a much better job with their marketing, this team is young and exciting with a ton of potential, even with Malone being Malone, yet they cannot figure out how to draw?

Thank you Rebel, that is a wonderful write up. I agree with you to the word.

Did anyone notice the Nuggets only won one quarter? A huge quarter, but they need to learn to be more consistent.

Inconsistency is a calling card of such a young team. 3 starters (Jokic, Harris, Murray) and two rotation players (Lyles & Beasley) are 23 or younger.

Exactly why we shouldn't get too excited about "now". I'm looking forward to two or three years from now. Playing those 23 or younger players now will help them develop faster. Relying on Chandler and Barton just slows their development down. Chandler is inconsistent and appears disinterested most of the time. Barton typically plays for Barton, not the example we need. They seem ready to make the playoffs this year anyway.
