Which PF? We took SF and C if I remember?

Jarred Vanderbilt - 6'8" w/wingspan of 6'11" - supposed to be an active but light-weight defender that "could play some backup center"

You might be right but I've seen a couple that call him a PF.

He doesn't take 3 pt shots and one article said "Faried-like with solid defense" or something like that. So that sounds like a PF. On the other hand, they say he's good in the open court, so that sounds like a SF - but almost no assists and not supposed to have great handles. Sure sounds like maybe a combo-type forward and not a pure SF.

Young Nuggets forwards: Lyles, Hernangomez, Lydon, even Craig, now we add both Porter and Vanderbilt --- all seem like combo-types to at least some degree. That's not bad but that's six young forwards to play behind Millsap (and possibly Chandler and/or Barton). I'm still not impressed with the roster balance.

Is that more than a $12,800,562 hint?

Well if the Nuggets do resign Craig as rumored, that means that Chandler has to compete with Craig, Juancho, Porter JR, and whoever ends up at backup SG for minutes at the 3, and Millsap, Plumlee, Lyles, Lydon, and Juancho for minutes at the 4. If he is sticking for the $12.8 million than he better save it as he is not going to get enough minutes to convince someone he deserves even the full MLE next year.

Really excited about this draft. I didn't think MPJ would fall to Denver so I never even thought about it! True boom/bust player. Hopefully he turns into a monster in the NBA, with a long and healthy career.

Vanderbilt is someone I'm excited about also. Yes, another pf.... But, he nearly matched Kenneth Faried's college reb% so he's likely going to be a stellar rebounder. Defensive pest!!! I like this, imagine if faried used his incredible athletic gifts and 7' wingspan to defend.

Offensively, in the half court, he projects to have faried's role. But what I like about him is that he has the potential to clear the defensive glass and start advancing the ball. For a team sorely lacking transition opportunities, this sounds wonderful. They say he's a decent passer and dribbler so I'm pretty excited about the possibilities.

I think he would be a great two-way contract player and he'll tear up the g-league with his rebounding ability.

He wasn't the healthiest player, but that's why Denver got him at 41.

Also excited about Welsh as a potential two-way contract for the depth it brings at center.
