Well, the actual coach thinks he's the best option at the moment. He did have the best preseason IMO and until one of the other players steps up, he's gotta go with who he thinks is the best option (or until he's traded).

As much as it hurts, I have to agree that Malone is going with what appears to be the best choice. It's obvious Barton is too small to play some SFs, but he finds a way to make it work (not always the way I prefer, but ... I'm not the one he has to keep happy).

Craig looked fairly good in game 1 - so Malone may be forced to make a change but it won't happen based on one game.

Actual coach or not its obvious that Barton is a 6th man gunner and not a wing. Why are we not starting Craig or Grant at SF? Seems much more logical to me. Either way we are winning for now so its ok.

Not that I'm disagreeing about Barton but I'm more not sold on Craig as a starter. His defense has been great but his shooting looks just like it did at the beginning of last season and he had the whole off-season to work on it. Grant to me is a PF and has excelled there so far, don't mess with building chemistry IMO. Question is, are we winning because of Barton or in spite of him ??

I think that we are winning despite Barton playing out of position while also being a little lucky that he is making his shots. I dont like his tendencies to hijack the offense when he is a starter and he doesnt bring much defensively. On the other side his iso scoring abilities are very useful of the bench.

Craig might not be a reliable shooter but neither is Barton to be honest. Craig at least gives us a defensive dog out there. Grant is best as a PF but he might not be bad at the SF either. Id just like to see more of those two next to Jokic and less of Barton.

Only been two games but can't see I've seen that happening this year....so far. Are you tell me you have seen him hijacking, if so, when ??

As ive said i dont like his TENDENCIES to hijack the offense. We've both been watching Barton in the past and know that old habits die hard.

Certainly not disagreeing there, we have all seen it before and unfortunately we'll probably see it again. Really don't mind it off the bench but that's where it should be if it appears at all.
