The Warriors are struggling but they play fairly well and if the Nuggets don't take them serious ....

The only good thing about recent injuries that flood Nuggets starting lineup is that we are going to take seriously every opponent. At least I hope.

Getting killed at the 3-pt line from a TERRIBLE 3-pt shooting team .....

Tough win, strong comeback that seems like it shouldn't have had to happen. Our depth stepped up, 3 player scoring more than 23pts, 3 double-doubles, MPJ having a great night. Jokic 2 dimes short of another TD . Beasley and Barton owned the 3-pt line spurring the comeback, shooting 12-19 from the arc. We ended up shooting a better pct from the arc than from 2-pt range, that won't happen often. Strong bench play getting 63 points and 29 rebounds off the pine. Just seem they over-worked themselves against an inferior team...again !!

Nuggets faced tanking team in 9-games losing streak, so according everything we see this season we know it is going to be tough even without all these injuries :)

I can't understand why Malone is so stubborn about MPJ playing time, when boy is so good in all per-minutes metrics, even tonight, when 3 starters are out. Porter played almost 30 minutes, but only 7 in the 1st half, so plan was obviously to play just about 15 minutes again, but only weird circumstances (including overtime) forced career-high minutes for MPJ this.

MPJ averages last three games:
17p 7 rebounds 2 steals and 1 block with 61%FG and 0.3TO in 24minutes....

MVP of this game has to go to Coach Malone. His starting line-up wasn't very effective and the team didn't play much defense; but he found five players that worked and gave them the most minutes and those five scored 114 pts.

Barton with 31 plus 7 assists led the team and Jokic added 23 with 12 rebounds & assists. That was their job, to carry the team and they did fairly well.

Beasley brought 27 off the bench in 39 minutes - so all the Beasley fans are smiling and saying, "I told you so".

Porter brought 18 w/10 rebounds and Plumlee brought 15-15.

Okay, Plumlee off the bench works but maybe he should be starting right now.

Beasley - gets minutes and produces; why isn't he starting now? Craig's defense is not making a difference, which coach knows because he's playing him well under half of the game.

Porter needs to start - defense is improving and his defensive effort is better than most of the Nuggets.

I hate to say it, but start Barton at PG, but remind him his role is to score and let Jokic start the offense.

Barton + Beasley
Porter + Grant (Plumlee) - maybe give Vanderbilt a shot
Jokic of course

The lineup of Barton, Beasley, Porter (MPJ), Plumlee and Jokic won the game in overtime. Barton and Beasley were on fire and Porter was consistently good (with some breakdowns in defensive scheme but improving game by game).

The improvements in MPJ's game are breathtaking. Not much doubt left about his talent level.
Canned in Denver.

Return to Denver Nuggets
