Okay but what does any of that have to do with Embiid lol. Saric and Covington for Butler wasn't bad value, not retaining him and then Brand doing a s&t for Josh Richardson was the back breaker.

There was also a #1 overall ubertalented draft pick who dominated summer league, and then came to camp damaged goods. A lot went wrong in the equation of Philadelphia, a lot of it had to do the mishandling of assets between the makeshift GM's the team hired in response to Hinkie being fired. Brett Brown also took over a draft and spent a #10 pick on 6'2 powerforward Zhaire Smith when fans were screaming for SGA or MPJ still on the board. Thankfully Morey is at the helm now.

The worst Sixers trades lately are Tatum+FRP for Fultz and Fultz for nothing.

Well not nothing, but it was heartbreaking considering how talented Markelle Fultz was at Washington, and Tatum has been a thorn in our side since. Fultz became a protected FRP, that became Tyrese Maxey so we're holding out hope he can be something important to our future, and the shot creating guard that we hoped for Fultz.

Well, this isn't a thread about PHI, nice hijacking :banghead:

Interesting projections on minutes allocation.

Rebel's projection is for early season - and it makes sense. I actually hope Malone does that, but I'm not sure he will. Won't shock me either way.

Other projections are for the end of the year or maybe overall.

Here's my thoughts:

Jokic - let him play all he wants - he plays at the same speed for 20 minutes as he does for 60
Hartenstein - give him all the center minutes Jokic doesn't get
Millsap - limit his minutes to 20-24 and pray for no injuries
Green - give him as many minutes as coach can find
Bol - as many minutes as Malone can find - probably based on how he does - it's basically his rookie year, more or less
Porter - I'm not certain but I am certain Malone will play him based on his defense - which I think is better than many give him credit for
Barton - at SF, whatever minutes Porter doesn't get
Harris - very hard to predict (Barton & Murray as backups depending on other slots)
Murray - around 30 mpg
Morris - PG minutes Murray leaves open (including when Murray is at SG)
Dozier - filling in at both guards and maybe some SF but probably not as many minutes as he deserves

There; did I make that as non-committal as possible? Malone's got a lot of decisions to make

Malone has a tough job allocating minutes this season. So many talented guys on the team. How ever we slice it someone is not getting minutes.
It comes down to what do we want to do this season. Gun for the highest seed possible or develop young guys.
Knowing Malone it would be the former so it saddens me we wont see much of Bol, Zeke and Dozier.

In the beginning it will probably be something like:

Jokic 30 Hertenstein 18 Zeke spot minutes
Millsap 22 Green 22 Bol spot minutes
Barton 30 MPJ 24 RJ Spot minutes
Harris 28 Campazzo 18 Dozier spot Minutes
Murray 30 Morris 18

Barton is probably going to cry if we cut his minutes in his contract year. Green might also want more minutes to show of. Thats why he is here. Millsap might get less minutes to conserve himself for the PO but if the defense doesnt click Malone will leave him on the floor as much as he can. Harris might play fewer minutes if his injury hasnt healed 100%.

If it was up to me id look to trade Barton to a team where he can play and earn his next contract that we cant afford. Id also sacrifice some games to let the kids develop and to let us see what we have for the future. I doubt that we are winning anything this season but id still like us to get those playoff reps. 1st seed or 7th seed doesnt matter that much.

Jokic 30/Hertenstein 16 Zeke 2
Green 20-/ Millsap10/Bol 10 Zeke 8
MPJ 30/Dozier 23
Harris 25/Morris 18 RJ spot minutes
Murray 30/Campazzo 18

As we get better picture who is playing well and who is not ready we can give more minutes to those further along. It suck for Green to be in this situation but if he doesnt fit into the team and struggles in his role while the kids play great id cut his minutes even more or trade him to another team. If we see that the kids are not ready to play in the NBA after a dozen of games id reduce their minutes and play the vets more.

Jokic leads the Nuggets in minutes - points - assists - FG% - FT% - O-Rebounds - D-Rebounds - steals

Starting lineup time?

Jokic
Green - 47% - 3pt shooter - spread the court
Porter - 44% - 3pt shooter - spread the court
Harris - 32% - cut to the bucket
Murray - 33%

One thing I know, we have lots of 33%+ 3pt shooters. Only ones not hitting 33% plus?

Howard - 6 shots
Cancar - 2 shots
Nnaji - 2 shots
Hampton - 1 shot
Hartenstein - 0 shots

Return to Denver Nuggets
