Eh, I think I'd rather have Andre Miller than Nate Rob at this point.

He can't really be a 6th man because he'd be backing up the best player on the team. Robinson deserves more minutes than the ~15 that Lawson is on the bench, but I wouldn't want him getting time at the 2 and taking minutes away from Fournier/Foye/Hamilton.

This is why Andre needs to be moved. I know it is unlikely that we win 57 games again this year, but that negativity is horrible for a veteran to display. Pretty obvious that he wants out and that we need to move him.

Granted I am a wing guy... I like my players to be able to shoot, dribble, pass, and defend multiple positions. I really like Deng... but outside of offering Chandler, Andre Miller, and Randolph I can't see how that would work out. Plus Deng and the Nuggets would already need to have an extension all worked out. He's older than the core is... but he does bring some things we need. How he fits in with Danilo could be an issue... but in today's NBA I actually think they could play together.

As for replacing Andre Miller... the Nuggets should just sign Bobby Brown. That's easy enough and keeps Nate Rob off the squad.

A deal like this would probably seal Faried's fate... even with the JJ signing I can't help but feel Faried could be available in trades.

Wilson Chandler's trade value

Post#186 » by dukeknicksirish » Fri Jul 19, 2013 3:23 am

Just curious here, what is your teams value on him? What would be a package you'd like to revive if a team wanted to trade for him?

Like a veteran? Backup Point? Stretch 4?

Lets say a team like Houston offered, who would you want back? (Say Harden, Chandler, Dwight are untouchable)

I don't see the Nuggets trading Chandler at all unless they could get a significant upgrade in a package deal. So you take those 3 out of the Rockets, and the Nuggets don't trade Chandler.

Nate Robinson is now following the Nuggets on twitter if it means anything.

Not sure Miller in a great option with his health. If he is healthy and comes cheap, I'm for it as he opens up the floor a bit for everyone with his shooting, but I'm doubtful this works out. Interesting that we are interested.

I would not mind Mike Miller for the minimum or even LLE, the Nuggets need a decent option with experience at the 2. Foye is okay, but he is not a starter in the league, and Miller can be a place holder while Fournier or Hamilton earn the spot.

Miller isn't a starter either at this point. I don't like the direction we're heading. It looks like the guards are gonna be buried on the bench yet again behind more undeserving players with no upside.

OF coursed Miller is on his last legs, but I would not say he is not capable of starting for a few weeks, Miller is the type of guy I wanted them to bring in. foye is the guy I do not understand bringing in, why go get an undersized combo guard that is a terrible passer and defender to come off the bench at the 2, defense has long been a problem when Miller is on the court and Foye is not a guy to help with that. Fact is Fournier did not look ready to be a true starter during summer league, let him earn it during camp and the 1st few weeks of the season. Hamilton is not really a SG either, he is bad enough on defense against SFs, but really struggles trying to keep up with smaller quicker SGs. I think the Nuggets also see Q. Miller as a stretch 4 more then a SF, so I doubt he is going to get many minutes at backup SG or SF. Personally I would give Hamilton 15 mpg at backup SF while Gallo is out, give Miller & Fournier each 20 mpg at SG if they get Miller, with Foye only getting about 8-10 mpg at Sg and PG.

If you do not get Miller, then you have A. Miller, Foye, Fournier, and Hamilton combining for 64 MPG at SG and backup SF, personally I would prefer the majority of those minutes go to Fournier and Hamilton but am not going to lie in that I expect Foye to get 20+ mpg, and Miller another 8-10 at SG, leaving Fournier and Hamilton getting right about what I would expect with M. Miller on the roster.

Once Gallo gets back and up to speed signing M. Miller allows you to trade Chandler, you could probably get a decent player for Chandler and one of the backup Pfs that are on the roster.

Looks like Nate Rob is a done deal for two years.

We've got 13 under contract now. So it would seem Mozgov and Green makes 15.

I hope the Nuggets do continue to look at trade options and S&Ts as well. If they are indeed open to moving Faried (gasp) in a blockbuster then they should continue to add up front.

Spurs have blair & lorbek. Jazz have tomic... there are deals to be made. It would sure be nice to have a big man that could hit a jump shot. And if Faried is moved having both Blair and Hickson helps ease that pain.

Thinking about It from a coaching perspective without a number 1 star you need production both ways from everyone. Bigs need to be able to post down low or step out and shoot. Two ways to stretch the defense. McGee on the block or P&R with Lorbek beyond the 3 point line. Much more impactful than Faried who... I love the guy... but he can't post or shoot.

By my count there are 14 guys under contract with the Nuggets, with no backup true center, so if Mozgov is not brought back they have to find a center for that 15 slot.

Blair would be a terrible choice for the Nuggets to bring in, last I checked they already have 3 rotation quality or better 4s, with Chandler being able to play a stretch 4, and from appearances in summer league it appears that is the position they want Q. Miller to play. The last thing they need is another 4, they need a true 5 or a starting SG.

Also the Nuggets have no more cap space and only the TPE from the Iggy deal, meaning they will have to get someone in a trade or for the minimum. I doubt the jazz or Spurs are going to use their cap space or exceptions to sign and trade a European player to the Nuggets right now.

Now that you guys have 4 PG, would you want anything from the Bucks? We can take on salary...We would like any of the following guys: A Miller, Galli or Hamilton

I think we already know the Jazz will.... they already rented cap space to the warriors this year.

I'll take all the post depth we can get if Faried is going to get shopped. Chandler is our starting 3 until Gallo is ready to go.

Buy-out & S&T Tomic (last of Utah's cap space) for Andre Miller, Q Miller, and future protected 1st. Then they can work a buyout with Andre and save some scratch so he can sign with the heat.. or whoever.
