exactly why we won't ever make the elite level of teams....you see San Antonio or Detroit ever worrying about stats or any BS like that....?? :banghead:

You see anyone on the Pistons/Spurs getting 20+ rebounds & 10 + blocks in a game? Don't say "they don't try" because you should always try to play d and rebound.

So...we have superior "stat getters" and they win titles....hmmm, I wonder which I'd rather have.

It seems like Kleiza has these types of games about once a month, where he just goes off. He's gotten much better at getting to the rim, and has nights where he can't miss from outside. The kid can score, but it's tough to do every night playing behind Melo and AI.

Just got back from the game, boy was it fun. Crowed was pretty into it after Kleiza went off. Good win, GO NUGGETS!

this is what I hate....here's a pistons box score from a 14 point win at toronto.....look at the minutes the starters played.....I know we're banged up....but in a blowout win, we need to rest starters...

R. Hamilton G 38:22 16-22 5-6 2-3 +23 0 4 6 0 0 0 1 1 39
C. Billups G 30:29 5-9 3-4 7-7 +13 0 3 4 2 0 0 1 0 20

R. Stuckey 24:54 3-7 0-0 2-3 -6 0 1 5 2 0 0 0 1 8

look at our box score in a "blowout"

A. Iverson G 44:34 9-19 0-2 10-12 +22 1 4 9 3 3 0 2 3 28
A. Carter G 33:26 1-3 0-1 3-4 -4 0 4 11 1 4 0 0 2 5

E. Najera 18:20 1-2 0-0 0-0 +4 1 4 1 1 0 1 0 1 2
J.R. Smith 18:00

why the hell should anybodys minutes be in the 40's? this game was over with 5 minutes to go....play the bench....Camby for 43 minutes? lol...whats the friggin point? run everybody into the ground for the second half of the season and the playoffs?

Unfortunatly, they allowed your team to be the ones that dominated.

Terrific game for you guys, I think this was a statement game for you as much as us, and I think this says great things about the rest of the season for you.

Grats.

thanks. we (royal?) applaud your manners and graciousness.

the Denver post said that Hunter was available, yet he gets no playing time and injured Najera playes 18 minutes...I wonder what is going on.

They're talking on the radio about how Hunter didn't play because he showed up 15 minutes late.

Well....at least Karl showed some consistency there. Though I wonder if he'd bench Melo or Iverson if they ever showed up 15 minutes late for practice.

I'm just thinking back to the Knicks game in '06 where they thought we were running up the score. Karl had said at that time he wanted the starters to hold the game down late because they hadn't been doing it.

Physically, that's a little crazy. Psychologically, probably works.

I wonder if any of it has to do with AI and Camby trying to fluff up their all-star resumes with stats, since we are getting so close to the end of voting and AI was pretty close. (Camby still has almost 0 chance)

hey, serious...

Why Denver trade Evans for Hunter?

Today, we play with one of 3 big mans, and KL not put Hunter....Camby, 32yo play 43min.

I think we traded Evans for Hunter mostly for $$$ reasons. Though I am surprised that Hunter receives absolutely no playing time.

Kleiza is underrated by many people on Realgm and the media, he is a better slasher that hits the occasional threes, and is good enough to be a starter in the league. Unfortunately for him he is stuck behind Melo, and like Melo is more of your typical SF.

Overall this was a good game, the offense ran like it should and the defense was solid.

I would have liked to see the starters come out when Sloan put in his bench, but this is Karl so what do you expect.

I'm confused, is there any evidence that Camby, AI, Melo, et al asked to stay in the game to try to fluff their stats? Or is that just conjecture?

I was asking why Karl was leaving them in?

Kleiza has become very good at taking his player off the dribble. He has a relatively unique combination of quickness and strength.....the guys that can match his strength (like okur or boozer last night) dont stand a chance of staying in front of him, while most swingmen are too weak to prevent from getting bullied into the lane. He's about as quick as a SG but as strong as a PF.

However, the key to his offense is to get his outside shot to fall. When people start respecting that shot and come out to guard him, he generally blows by them going towards the basket.

They ran a few silly plays for Camby to try and get him the triple double. Any coach would have done that for a vet like camby. Its not like the nuggets were running up the score with the starting unit in.....we would have been better off with wafer in than camby chucking 3's and 20 footers.

Kleiza isn't a player that can pull up for a jumper off the dribble, so unless another player (ala Iverson/Melo) draws in the defense and kicks out to him so that his man is left running at him, he also wouldn't be able to drive to the basket like he did against the Jazz. Any SF that is quick enough to stay in front of him would likely give him trouble.
