Why doesn't Denver just sign Tyrus to an MLE deal, and keep the far better player and draft pick?

What is the purpose of protecting a 2nd round pick? I wouldn't do the deal.

I'd do Kmart's expiring and Balkman for Tyrus and Chandlers expiring. I would rather see the Nuggets resign Petro than add an over-priced Diop to the roster.

Do we need Thomas?

We should be after a real post big with size not an undersized player.

TT is a restricted FA...if you signed him to the MLE the cats would just match

The bobcats aren't going to be able to unload Diops contract. Nice try. I don't mind going after Thomas. If the bobcats were looking for a rental I could see moving Tyrus and Nazr for Kenyon Martin rather than paying Tyrus long term. But before you give Nene up you might as well make an offer and see if the Bobcats even match.

This...

Tyrus is even more reckless than Nene... he has KMart's game + (unfortunately) J.R.'s brain. Go figure.

The only way I'll take Tyrus on this team is if we can fleece the Bobcats like we did the Bulls when we acquired J.R. Second round pick + scrub... otherwise there's no place for him on this team. I shudder to think this cat is our starting PF... one night he goes for 20 pts and 8 rbds, the next: 4 pts and 6 rebds... Nene all over again. Inconsistency all over again.

Rather than focusing on this free agent, Nuggets better focus on another: Brendan Haywood. Now that is a guy I will give this team's FULL MLE. It will be worth it. Tyrus can take my minimum offer or leave it. :D I really think there's a chance Haywood could sign elsewhere than Dallas. If someone can tell (convince) him Dirk is soft and danger of falling out of first round looms every year no matter how high seed they're and Dirk is kinda getting old... window is not so big... and owner with too much hands on... Granted, I think he will consider the championship contending teams first, like Cavs, Lakers before us. But at least I think he will consider leaving Mavs, and it's a start.

So you didn't read any further than this and see why Denver couldn't?

And yeah, I'm totally back stabbing you.

^You crazy... Lawson is probably already better than Felton.

The only Bobcats I would be interested:
- Gerald "mouthpiece" Wallace... although he plays the same position as Melo, I wouldn't mind acquiring him. I think he's a basketball player, not by position... so he can play SG, guard a PF, drain threes, get us 15 rebounds, and play mad defense. This guy is just awesome... I just never get why his mouthpiece always hanging out like that, he doesn't even put it inside his mouth
- DJ Augustin... he got game, he got speed, but let's be honest the purpose of acquiring him here is to offer him our "Anthony Carter"'s/ 3rd string position... if he wants it, the job is vacant :D
- Stephen Jackson... swagger, clutch, I'll take Captain Jack any day... hope he doesn't contribute to more cancers in George's body... but he's the guy you can trust in close game... he makes good decisions. He can be our starting SG.

Good for them, they can match and keep him, no way is Denver giving up a good piece and taking back a **** contract.

There is no need to make a big deal out of Tyrus. He's good, but he's hardly a game changer. I'd rather get the headcases out of here, and bring in guys who have sanity to match their talents. Tyrus is JR with a different set of skills.

as much as i love TT... he's a restricted FA.... so the most i would trade for him is 2nd....

btw... the Cats dont have to use the qualifying offer.... so he could become an Unrestricted FA...

i say offer him the MLE if Brad Miller and Udonis Haslem say no...

miller expressed number of times that he'll probably stay with bulls, but i wouldn't mind him in a nuggs uniform.

The full MLE for Brad Miller? I personally would not go over the LLE for him at this point.

I would take JO over Haslem and Miller.. I know he was terrible in the playoffs, but he had a very solid regular season and it was an obvious slump where he was asked to do to much.

His post skills and mid-range game would fit perfect next to Lawson of the bench
