How is the Pac-10 that much better? They have one annual powerhouse. The Big 12 had two. Then there are a ton of mediocre teams who occasionally have good years. This is all about the Big 12 sucking Texas off and giving them way more revenue than the other schools. I'm glad they got out, and I'm even more glad those other Big 12 teams didn't follow. This played out as well as I could have hoped. Now if only the Hawkins family pledged undying loyalty to the Big 12.
LOL @ anybody that seriously thinks a team dropping to a crappier conference is a good idea. Less revenue FTW! That's going to help with facilities, recruiting, coach buyouts (hopefully), etc. Kiszla made that same argument in the Post. All he had is it made for better rivalries by getting to play CSU/Air Force/Wyoming every year. All that does it benefits those schools. CU blows junk right now at both sports (and will for the foreseeable future, no doubt), but your potential to be good gets worse when you go to a crap conference, not better. And the kick to the balls financially I'm sure is something they're drooling over in Boulder.
No brainer. As an alum, I certainly am more intrigued about seeing a CU road game now. Eugene, LA, Tuscon, etc. or Aimes, Iowa. Hmmmm...
I wonder if the Pac-10 will look to pick off Utah now, or if they're content with 11. Would be pretty damn funny right when the MWC thinks they're positioned for an automatic berth with Boise St. joining.
