Nice, it's funny b/c the only reason there was any ever doubt is cuz Kizla made up a BS rumor, and ESPN ran it like crazy

Money wise it's a smart move for Carmelo because of the new CBA, but basketball wise I don't think it's a smart move. This team is clearly not a championship team. They play no defense, they don't have a good bench, they don't have rebounding, low post scoring. They are basically a perimeter team who doesn't play any defense. Their two best players are jumpshooters and when that's the case you aren't winning jack unless you play some serious defense.
Look at the past 10 champions, the two or three best players on the past ten champions have either been a perimeter player(s) and a low post scorer.
2000-2002 - Kobe and Shaq
2003, 2005, 2007 - Duncan, Ginobli, and Parker
2004 - Billups, Hamilton, Wallace.
2006 - Wade and Shaq
2008 - Garnett, Allen, and Pierce
2009 & 2010 - Kobe & Gasol
The only team who's two or three best players were primarily jumpshooters were Detroit and Boston. But those teams played defense, KG and Sheed while primarily jumpshooters they could also go down in the post and get easy baskets when it was needed.

we got ourselves a douchebag.
what do you think the purpose of this website is? to discuss the best possible options for our teams in order to compete for the title. you're basically coming in with this attitude that what we should do as fans is not acknowledge our players and instead be **** downers?
13 posts doesn't give you the right to come in here and act apeshi* just because you found out two days ago that lebron might be signing with the knicks.

Exactly, you just proved yourself wrong you complete idiot... Melo is the first piece in a championship puzzle... the rest involves a low post threat (Al Jefferson?), extra clutch playoff performer (Billups), hustle players (Chris Andersen, Graham, Louis Admunson?), role players who know their place (Nene, Afflalo, Bird) and a strong bench (JR, Lawson, Bird and someone for the MLE)... so obviously not just Melo will win a chip, but Melo and the right pieces will (a lot of them are already here)

Well damn, maybe if we had money like LA we could actually buy some talent and win rings. Then maybe we can get guys like Artest to sign for scraps and win even more rings...
**** LA

I really hope Melo resigns with you guys. He belongs to Denver and has to understand that the front office's job will be much easier if they have a commitment from their superstar. This way, they can lure other free agents to Denver and build a competetitive team.

You're not telling me anything I don't already know.
Billionaire or not, money is money. Nuggets don't make a profit big enough to cover a salary like that. He wouldn't remain a billionaire for very long if had your financial logic.
I hope the CBA fixes this problem. I guarantee we would see a lot of different teams in the finals if a fair hard cap was placed.

I really hope Melo take the offer and stay with the Nuggets. It will crush the Knicks' hope of getting Melo.

I think this super team thing hurts the Nuggets chances of resigning Melo. Is he really going to win a championship here over the Lakers/Heat/Celtics? If he goes to New York with Amare and they get another star player (which they have cap for), he can win with the Knicks. He could also go somewhere like Orlando with Dwight and win right away.

He could wait for a year or so in Denver and get Paul and Howard here with him. After all we will have the cap space over the next two years to do it.

This super star team hurts the whole league, not just Denver. This will be the formula, started by Boston and LA, to winning championships. Only 3 teams really have a shot at winning. Everyone else is irrelevant. So remind me why I'm wasting my time following this sport again? I love it to death, but this is not the same sport I grew up with...
If I ever hear anyone compare LeBron to Jordan, or even Kobe again, they better not be within an arm's reach of me.
