Williams for the minimum is fine he is a decent defender and rebounder, but I might have to go choke someone for bringing back Carter when I drive by the pepsi center tomorrow

I really hope that neither of these players see the floor. Sheldon Williams is pretty terrible, and AC... nothing more needs to be said about him.
3rd stringers that SHOULD only play because of injuries/garbage time. Glad both for min cause not worth a penny more.

From what I've read, it sounds like Karl and the front office are high enough on Lawson that AC will be a non-factor and is just being signed for insurance purposes. Although, you really never know with George Karl.
I'm fine with Shelden Williams too. If nothing else, he's an upgrade over Malik Allen.
If our bigs can get healthy, we're already an improved team from last year. A bench of Lawson, Jr, Harrington, Birdman, AC and Shelden is very solid.

Celtics fan here.. you don't want Shelden playing any meaningful minutes. Strictly end of the bench material.. guy is horrible and fell apart under pressure in the playoffs when we needed him most.

Yeah we never know, so why tempt him? And if AC is meant to never play, why not sign a younger PG? There should be some out there just as bad as AC, the only difference being is they could still improve. AC is just going to get worse.

Can't be worse than Malik Allen.

Why is it always Anthony Carter. If he takes a second away from Ty Lawson's playing time... don't get me started. I've been very impressed with the FO in the past but this off-season has been kind of a nightmare, especially with all those other teams re-tooling (granted, mostly eastern conference teams). Still have to see what they do with K-Mart, though, hopefully they have something up their sleeve...

Just puked in my mouth a little bit and its not because of the signing of the sixhead. Anthony ERRRRRRRRR Aaron Carter really shouldn't be back. This move hurts, a lot. Better not see him getting any real minutes. Sixhead is alright to replace Malik, but we could still use another 7 footer. Hollinger said this filled up our roster, does that include Brian Butch because Im doubtful he makes the team. Dude looked really bad in summer league. We just need a little more size on the bench. Does this also mean Graham is gone and Coby Karl is on the team? Ild be cool with Coby, hes been playin solid ball in the Summer League. Just seems to be a smart player.

I'm OK with Carter, as long as he's not playing much. Good practice guy and a good veteran voice.
Sheldon is too small. What was the thought process with this? We need a legit 6'11+, who can defend and rebound in the post.

I'm sure the thought process was who else can we get for the minimum thats better? Besides, if a guy like Sheldon, or whoever else we would get instead, is getting meaningful minutes, we have bigger issues to deal with.

Exactly. It's just a minimum guy that won't see much time. Not sure why people are freaking out about guys that are gonna be 11th/12th (at the highest) on the depth chart. Not really much to worry about. And I'm pretty sure Karl will play Lawson more this year, so no need to worry about AC.

Not freaking out at all... Just don't see the point in signing a guy who doesn't fill any of the team's needs. We don't have a single true 5. If either Nene or Bird go down, we are in a bad situation. It just seems like signing a 5, any 5, would be a better move.

Chill guys. I like these two signings more than the Al Harrington deal.
Shelden Williams is only 26, and he doesn't have great size at 6'9", but he can essentially be our Johan Petro this year. I'm guessing he's coming for the minimum, and that's great. Maybe with a change of scenery in a winning environment, he can do well. He's a good rebounder and he's not totally useless on offense.
And the way Ty's been dominating the summer league, I'm sure the FO is gearing him up to take over the reins once Billups is done. Despite everything, AC's a rock-solid 3rd string PG. At the minimum, I really don't mind. Plus, he knows the system well, and his veteran presence at the very least will be helpful.

Reinforcements are always welcome. Harrington and Williams will allow Nene and Birdman more operating room.
My feeling is the healthy body quota has been filled - now we need one HUGE body and maybe a true center to complete the puzzle.
One thing we can feel more sure about is Karl will not be forced to lean on any one player for a particular thing to the point of burnout.
6'10 or taller, 280-290 lbs, bruiser down low. That's the last piece we need.

What's Kwame been doing lately?
I would have preferred Kwame Brown over Sheldon Williams. Tiny hands but more size.
