Can only go from boxscores right now.

Shelden Williams (8 points, 4 boards), Lawson and Melo have good numbers so far.

It appears the Nuggets are playing pretty good defense, although Roy and Camby are not playing tonight.

Williams also has 18 and 8 on 6 of 8 shooting, even without the Blazers having any centers and it being a preseason game that is pretty impressive

The team is 11-22 from behind the arc. If you take Billups out of that, he has played like garbage tonight, then they would be 11-17.

putting up 22 and 11 I would hope so especially considering all the injury problems the Nuggets have in the front court. Damn who knew the guy only needed to be put on a diet for a few weeks and he would suddenly play like the lotto pick he was.

During half time they did a little piece on him, and said that this is the 1st team that he has played for where he has been given the green light to shoot the ball. He said GK stopped practice and asked him why he keeps passing up wide open shots, Williams said that it is because that is what he has always been asked to do, GK said, no, no, no, take the open shot. I guess he listened to his coach

While I understand not wanting a guy like him to be your 1st option, if a big man is close to the basket and is wide open you have to have him taking that shot. Fact is that every coach that has told him not to take the shot should be fired just on principal right now.

While Williams has never looked like a great player, that 1st year in Atlanta he looked like a guy who would develop into a long term 4th starter, solid on both ends. If with the freedom and weightloss he can be that guy, it would really help with the rebounding and overall depth as we are in trouble if Harrington, KMart, and Andersen are going to be battling injuries to start the season.

Shelden Williams can be Shelden Williams. If something changed along the way, change it back. Why not? It's actually exactly what I like about this team. Maximizing potential.

Who the **** told him to always pass on open shots? Maybe if you're playing on nba 2k11 and have a 68 rating player. But then, someone pre-determines the rating on that kind of game.

LOL Shelden Williams.

If he puts up half the game he showed in the last game, he'd be a decent and young backup big. :D

Knowing Karl, that probably will be the case.

But logically...Melo/Harrington/Nene is the best 3/4/5 we could start.

Return to Denver Nuggets
