This game is supposed to be on NBA TV. It starts at 10:30. The post said that Nene/Melo will miss one of the next 2 games, so Melo or Nene won't be playing if the Denver Post is accurate with its report.

Melo didn't play? Is he on the verge of being traded?

It has been reported for the last couple of days as a planned day off, with Billups already sitting 2 games and Nene sitting next game.

That wasn't as bad of an effort as I thought it would be from this depleted team. Lawson is the real deal, and Afflalo continues to impress. If you are trimming the roster based on this game, Ely is the guy that gets cut/waived.

I say cut JR Smith. I can see why the Nuggets wanted to trade him. He will more often shoot the Nuggets out of a game real quick. It showed tonite with all those 3s late.

the lack of quality depth all around is going to be a problem for this team. We just do not have the big to stay with anybody with 2 quality bigs.
Lawson looked pretty bad when he 1st came on the court, but he looked better the longer the game has went on.
JR and Afflalo both shot pretty bad, but neither looked to bad all around, plus they were guarded by Artest, Kobe, and Barnes throughout the night, so I would not expect them to have great games.
Nene despite the bad shooting percentage looked good on offense, and not bad on defense, if we could just get him to rebound I would be happy.
Balkman had a heck of a night, could be our best option off the bench at PF to start the season, which would not be a horrible thing overall, as he helps with the rebounding problem.

Agreed, i don't know why he started tonight, I have never been impressed with him, and overall he has just been plain bad so far this preseason.

His usual problems shooting comes from taking contested off balance shots, if he had shot 4 or 5 of those in those last couple of minutes I would have a problem with it. I may have missed a couple of shots, but overall there was nothing wrong with those 3s he was taking, they were all set jump shots with wide open looks, usually he knocks those done pretty regularly, tonight was just a bad shooting night.

I would almost be inclined to start Balkman or Boateng over Williams.

Damn Afflalo really playing for that contract. Hope his game transcends into the regular season too.
