Start Lawson!

Post#1 » by jazzfan1971 » Wed Nov 17, 2010 1:43 am

I came over to see this thread here all ready. But, surprisingly it's not here. So, I'll start it.

it looks like almost no threads get posted here other than game threads. Kinda weird. This forum dead or something?
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

karl is never going to start Lawson over Billups and we all know it, besides you may not have noticed the Nuggets fans are all a bit distracted so far this year.

I think it's fair to say that the team is so much better with Lawson at the point and pushing the pace. That's where all our runs have come from this season.

I have said for a long time that Chauncey does not fit with the rest of the team, he is a half court walk it up guy, we have athletes more then half court players, and they need to run to be truly effective. Billup's shooting slump does not bother me near as much as the fact that he has never really fit.

The problem is Karl views chauncey as a great veteran that helps him as a coach on the floor, he is never going to bring him off the bench.

Whether Billups goes to the bench or not doesn't matter as much as him finding his shot, he lost it over the summer and it hasn't been found yet.

Screw that they need a Pg more then we need a soft PF, I would do wade for Chauncey though, although with Wade's injury history I might want some kind of incentive.

lawson hasn't been that impressive to me yet this season. his shooting slump has been about equal to billups. hasn't been aggressive enough towards the rim or really imposing a lot of his short/quick 'will' on the other team.

i agree that Lawson has not been great, but the team always seems to run better with him on the court. I have always believed that Billups is not the right fit for Karl's system, and the 1st year he tried, but as time has went on he seems to care less about running Karl's system and doing things as he did in Detroit.

Would you guys trade Billups/or Nene for Peja's expiring deal?

I wouldn't, but that's jmo. Billups and Nene could very well be on expiring deals themselves.

If you throw in an unprotected Toronto 1st this year and a swap option next year I would ship out Billups to you, Nene it would depend on what they are doing with Melo, and who they are getting back for him.

Billups is for all practical purposes, also an expiring.

Anyways, starting Ty is a bad idea. Billups needs to get things going, and we need Ty as a spark off the bench. Lawson is good, but incredibly overrated. Bring him along slowly.

Yeah, maybe wait ot start him until he can shoot free throws better than shaq.

Shaq FT% .561
Lawson FT% .548

I hope his teammates are pointing this out to him.

he's 100% from the opposite free throw line this season.

maybe he should just shoot from there.

I agree. Billups is on his last legs. Time to let youth take over.

Lawson has the potential to be a pretty good starting PG in the league.
