Who is going to step up for Denver in this game? Forbes is due for a good game and any kind of positive production from him could go a long ways tonight.

When we trade Melo we need someone who has an idea of how to close out a game, or they need to just blow the team up entirely.

That'll only happen if GK is included in the trade

The rumors of Karl extended have quieted down lately, who knows if he will be back. But either way with Melo this team is not a contender, without Melo this is a 30-35 win team. In the current situation I would rather just skip the 2-3 of trying to compete for the playoffs before they blow up the team.

One positive from the game was that Mr. Billups found his shot again. This team just can't get it done on the road.

They should have blown it up over the summer, tanked for a good draft pick (it would have been better then any pick they are going to get in a trade) and moved on.

Well it's consistency.....Melo brings that consistency and brings an assuredness that he will be the go to guy. Otherwise we have a lot of talented guys but no one realizing it is ok to step up and take over parts of a game. Maybe it Kenyon one night, but maybe it's JR. Maybe it's Chauncey's night. Maybe Nene.
Again we have the team going away from Nene down the stretch. I really want to see 1 or 2 Nene dominated 4th quarters, just for farts and giggles. I mean everyone complains about not being able to see Nene show up in crunch time. Go to him! Have Ty penetrate and whatnot. Have JR continue his athletic defense and maybe get a little of his game going on. But when in doubt, feed Nene!
Sorry to say it but Melo's leadership is that thing that separates stars from superstars.....consistency. Consistency is that one thing that separates pros vs joes.

Thing is....these last 5-6 seasons have had highs and lows and the highs have been pretty high. So....there will be a rebound and a few moments where it is do or die. We've got to give it at least until that turning point to see what this group can do one last time.
I mean....we've always had signs it would tank.....every single season. My patience will last to just about where it has in even the lowest win season...if it goes too low then maybe it's time to move pieces around. Thing is, just moving the pieces does not guarantee the same success we've seen the last few years. That's why I have patience with this group.
It's a rollercoaster ride for sure though.
