Den/OKC Proposal

Post#1 » by pickIBL » Fri Jan 14, 2011 4:14 am

Assuming you move Melo to the Nets or Knicks and Billups is still on the team I wonder if OKC has any interest at all in adding veterans. Especially with Jeff Green as a RFA... makes me wonder if he really isn't going to be around long term for them. Basically I'm wondering if we could pull Jeff Green, Harden, and expirings from them for Billups and Nene. The rest of the expirings they'd include wouldn't have any value to them except Krstic who we could just buyout/waive anyways.

Not sure what OKCs plans are but it would be really nice to add Harden/Green to whatever we get from NYK or NJN.

We could toss in Afflalo to sweeten the pot as well.

Personally I don't know that I would even trade Nene for that package, let alone add in Billups, and possibly throw in Afflalo. Very good starting centers have much more value then an average combo forward and backup SG.

they're set at PG with westbrook, why need billups?

and i'd rather use nene as a rebuilding piece, or stop-gap center until we find a younger/better one than trade him for green & harden.

plus, if billups isn't gone in a melo deal...they most likely keep him. too much of a fan favorite to dump to go be a backup in oklahoma.

yea was actually thinking Billups and Westbrook would start in the same backcourt. Nene has been in the league 8 years now. Once Melo is gone he may just be a stop gap... especially when drafting kids born in the 90s. Obviously thinking more long term... the books would look good... and i think you bring back Green at a reasonable rate.

I'd do it. Only cuz I like Harden though.
