Verizon Center, Washington, DC

Spotlight on John Wall: It's been an up-and-down rookie season mostly because of injuries for the former Kentucky star. When healthy, he is among the best point guardsrookie or veteran in the NBA. Wall is averaging 15.1 points and 9.2 assists and scored 18 on Monday night against the Knicks.

Nuggets: Chris Andersen (knee and back) still needs more time to return to the team, but he is on the trip. . . . Denver is 9-6 against Eastern Conference teams this season. . . . Denver has won five of its past seven games against the Wizards at the Verizon Center in Washington.

Wizards: After a bad December — they lost 12 of 15 games, including seven in a row — the Wizards have improved in January. They are 5-7 this month after Monday's loss to the Knicks and have won three of their past six, including an 85-83 victory over Boston on Saturday.

Is it just me or does Blatche destroy the Nuggets every single time we play against him?

J.R. Smith was late to the team's shootaround on Tuesday and will be held from action for the first half of Tuesday's game, which has already started.

Beat writer Benjamin Hochman passed word about this after tip-off, but owners will at least have an idea why his minutes are limited at the end of the night. We're filing this item under the 'least shocking news of the year' folder located right next to 'Smith, Doghouse.'

The last time he did this GK benched him for 2 games and 47 minutes, so there is a good chance that he doesn't even play.

Harrington has made all 5 of his 3's in the 2nd half.

Dang, Harrington just nailed a 3 from the cheap seats to close out the game.

i bet he plays a bunch tomorrow though. otherwise GK wouldn't have run afflalo into the ground in this game.

Forbes can play a good 20-25, with Afflalo putting in 15, JR may get 8 if he really pissed Karl off again.

Nice win.

What is so fun and exciting to J.R to waste a such a talent?
