Wow! Lafayette Lever is just all over the court of the Chicago Stadium. One of his 11 triple doubles during the 87-88 season. And what a triple double! Lever scores game high 31, grabs the most rebounds (16) in the game against a Bulls team with Charles Oakley, dishes out the most assists (12) and even leads the game in steals. Now according to basketball-reference and Jimmy Kerr he had 6 steals. I just don't understand how they only credited him with 6 steals. However it should be clear after watching the video that he picked the pockets of Bulls players 9 times, plus I also added two clips of him being unable to control the ball after stealing it. He just came short of a quadruple double. Amazing performance. January 8, 1988.

Thought that some of y'all might appreciate this montage. I guess it's a Nuggets classic. If you like 80s and 90s NBA - check out my youtube channel, has all kind of good stuff (including Run TMC and Westhead's Nuggets setting NBA record for points in regulation), though it lacks views.

Lever was always so much fun to watch, but please do not ever bring up the Westhead Nuggets again, like the Hanzlick era, it is not a time I would ever like to remember happening.

Fat was good

It was pretty cool to hear Red's voice again as well.
Thanks for sharing

Why is it that every person that shares a classic Nuggets game with us, it is a game that the Nuggets lost

I guess it's fun to watch those games for everybody except a Nuggets fan. There can't be a wackier game than Westhead's Enver Nuggets going up vs Nelson's Run-TMC.

Nuggets were better and leading most of the game however MJ just took over during the 4h not only on offense, but also by guarding English, who was unstoppable during the 1st half. I believe that was the year Jordan was the defensive player of the year.

You don't get credit for a steal if you are the one who gets possession. You get the steal if you are the one to actually force it. Some of those he got the ball after someone else knocked it away.

That's a really good game. It's kinda ugly to see some of these players shooting, though.
What I love is the amount of fouls (or lack thereof) called in that sequence.
