Chauncey, Williams, and Balkman appreciation thread.
I hate the fact that they had to trade Billups to make the deal work, but hopefully he will find a way to get to a championship contender in the next couple of years.

I'll miss Chauncey on the Nuggets the most.
Good luck Nuggets.

I am a Jazz fan, and really feel for you guys. I hate the way the league is starting to trend where star players get to just be complete punks and ruin teams, franchises, and the passion of entire fan bases. I sure hope the league puts into the next CBA a serious Franchise Tag, so that we can put a stop to this "Taking of Talents" to South Beach trend. Its just bad for the sport and I feel for you guys.
Basically, you lose Melo because he wants to be in the big city. That just stinks.

AS much as I love to hate the Jazz, I personally hope the owners do something about this **** in this CBA, no franchise should go through this type of ****.

No Appreciation for MELO?
Does NY come to Denver this season or have they already played there?

I hate to see Billups go
Carter was here a long time and wasn't getting any minutes, he should be able to get a few in NY.
Balkman never really played the entire time that the Nuggets had him, but when he did get minutes he was fun to watch. He is a NY guy, so I know he will be happy about this, but Damntoni ran him out of town once already, I don't know what will happen to him this time around.
Williams was actually a pleasant surprise in a few games for the Nuggets this year.
Melo gave the team 7 good years. This year he was a waste.

Thanks and for the Jazz sake as well as all the other small market teams that are out there the franchise tag would be a good thing imo.

I feel bad for Chauncey, but its part of the game and moving his contract in this deal saved us a ton of money. Hopefully Chauncey isn't too mad at the Nuggets organization, he should probably be more mad at Melo for the situation. It would be nice to see him maybe return in a reserve roll after his contract expires and lead him into a retirement in the front office. Class act and classy player, I hold him in the highest regards.
As for Sheldon, meh.
I couldn't be happier to see A.C. leave. One of the few players i have grown to completely hate over the years.
As for Balkman, I have a funny story about Renaldo that makes me glad we ditched that contract. I sat on the floor for a few games this year thanks to the Guys Night Out deal. One night, as we were leaving a blowout win a little early we walked out through the floor entrance and found Renaldo sitting in a chair in a corner by the entrance. He was dressed in a blue like flannel collared shirt that I was doubtful was up to NBA dress codes for sitting on the bench. His eyes looked like he had just finished enjoying some of Colorado's top cash crop. I went up to him, said whats up and asked why he wasn't on the bench tonight. With a twinkle in his eye, Renaldo looked up to me and replied, "oh, just chillin' bro". And thus, I understood why he had stopped playing ever since he got his 4 year extension, because he was always just chillin bro. Classic. Im sure he'll miss the kind buds of Colorado.

Like everyone else, I also feel bad for Billups. Wish we could have kept the guy until he retired. I guess I can't hate Melo, but I just think his greed to get EVERYTHING he wanted left a dark spot on his legacy in Denver. Still, I wish him a career of success and big numbers, but I hope his team fails miserably.
I'm just glad this thing is over.

eh, here's how i see the billups thing - trade had to happen, now NY has the big three they need (Billups, Melo, Amare) maaaaybe, but if not in 2 years he can come back and straighten out any messes that are created in the next 2 years.........GM Billups.
Maybe we need an ongoing thread anticipating his return?
And thank you Balkman and Williams ya did your thing
