Playoff Watch.

Post#1 » by The Rebel » Thu Mar 3, 2011 3:29 pm

Right now we are 2.5 games back from the Thunder for the division, and in the 5th slot for the conference, behind OKC and 1.5 ahead of Portland. the Nuggets have been very clear that they want to end up in that 4th slot winning the division.I think it can be fun to watch where this team ends up.

I think the 4 seed is a 3 horse race and I don't see Perkins playing for OKC before the playoffs, at least not for long enough to gel. Portland is alot better now with Roy as basically a role player. It will be exciting to see what happens and I want to see us against some of this prospective first round matchups to see if we can stop a Dirk or Kobe type.

These last two months are going to be fun to watch. We absolutely can catch OKC for that 4th seed, especially with Durant injured now.

We know we're good enough to beat up on the not-so-good teams, but I'm excited to see how we'll fair against the teams we're battling with for playoff position.

unless they slump hard without durant, i doubt we catch OKC.

though i wouldn't have a problem getting them in the first round as a 5th seed. we got a couple good SFs to match up with durant. far superior p&r defense to stifle westbrook. and karl/kmart (defense) should know what scotty brooks is gonna do.

unless our play dramatically falls off, i don't think the teams below us will catch up (even though we're not far ahead in the L column). nuggets are doing too many things right to lose that many games.

I think we have a chance to catch OKC with or without Durant. OKC has a pretty tough schedule over the next month, with several 3 games in 4 night stretches with travel involved, and several weeks where they have at least 4 games. With the Nuggets only being 2 games back I would not write off the Nuggets just yet.

Although you may get your wish, the Nuggets and Thunder may match up in the playoffs, my hope is that the Nuggets get the home court advantage though, as it should be a good series and is one I want to go to as much as possible.

I think the Nugs have a great chance @ the #4 seed.

Gallo is going to blow up when he gets back from injury.

Ask Knick fans how Gallo plays when he returns from injury.

Lets go Nuggets!!!

Maybe for not having a major superstar and with the way they are sharing the ball on offense, but that Pistons team played excellent defense. The Nuggets are better on the defensive end of the floor, but they aren't close to being at the level of that Pistons team imo.

If they want to stay in the 5th slot, not to mention move up they need to go 3-1 on this trip. This week should show us exactly what this team is, with games against 4 playoff teams, all on the road.

I don't mean the style of basketball but the fact that they look really, really good without a "superstar". I think they might have a shot at the WCF this year?

Denver looks like it can now play on the road. Maybe the 5th seed is great position to be in. If the Nuggets take one on the road then the remaining series would be tough for anyone in Denver. What would be really interesting is if OKC can catch Dallas and move up to an easier bracket.

With Dallas stumbling and the Thunder playing the way they are, they have a chance to catch the Mavs. I personally would prefer a series against the Mavs, as Perkins seems to have added some much needed toughness to the Thunder.

Return to Denver Nuggets
