George Karl: Coach of the Year?

Post#1 » by Nugologist » Thu Mar 17, 2011 8:42 am

Is it too early to start talking about Karl for Coach of the Year honors? The guy comes back from cancer, deals with the Melo trade rumors since training camp, starts the season without K-Mart and Birdman, and then loses his "2 best players" just before the trade deadline. All that and the guy has his team on the verge of another 50-win season. Is there any other coach with a more compelling case for the award this season?

Tom Thibodeau pretty much has it wrapped up IMO.

Agreed, although I really don't think he is the most deserving. They had a good team and added several players to it, now he did a good job getting guys like Boozer to focus on defense, but they are not all that much better then I expected them to be.

I think Nate McMillan will get some votes, he has had a similar situation to GK. Pops will/should also get some votes. I also agree with DaFan on Tibs.
