Ray Felton.."We're winning so I can't complain"

Clearly Ray wants to be a starter and be "the guy" but for the time being he's doing and saying all the right things.

I know how much you all love Ty but i'm not sold on him being the PG of the future yet, his lack of size is a concern. It's a shame we're not going to be able to keep both PG's long term. One of if not the best combos in the league IMO.

for the time being he's doing and saying all the right things.

idk about that. he basically puts an asterisk next to every politically correct thing he says.

in re playing behind lawson "it's working so far"
"we're winning, why complain"
"this is where (lawson's) gonna be....we'll see this summer where i might be"

he basically insinuates he doesn't think it'll keep working, and if we don't win...then he's gonna complain.

i mean if we lose 4 straight games or go down 1-2 or 2-3 in a playoff series....is he still gonna be okay with being a backup? i doubt it.

he's not being a bitch about it now but i'm not sure it will end well if we try to keep both guys through next season. i think it'd be good to trade him for a backup pg and a pick before it becomes an issue.

What is players obsession with starting? He gets starters minutes and even closes games for us.

Yea, maybe he's doing the right things (pushing to come back from the ankle injury) more so than saying the right things after watching the clip again.

I can't see him playing less than 30 min a night in the playoffs, he'll see a fair share of the action.

With our depth a few guys are gonna feel jibbed when the playoffs come around, once we're out those will be the players wanting out of town.

He'll certainly be tradable if he doesn't want to continue with the team in the same capacity next year. At least he's not writing this season off like that cat in NY.

i've been reading his quotes too. don't like it at all. if he doesn't want to be here he needs to go as first priority. we've been through hell watching what selfishness does to our team, i don't want to go through it again.

He's definitely replaceable. I'ld like to get some value for him, so I would like to see him moved early in the off-season (if possible with the cba) unless there is more reassurance that he is content coming off the bench.

What a bad attitude. He should be happy he's on a team that's doing so well after such a big trade.

With the 5th pick maybe, he is worth a hell of a lot more then a TPE.

there have been rumors of Felton feeling like he has to be a starter since he was with the Bobcats, and then having his agent trying to get the Nuggets to make him a starter before he had even passed his physical for the trade did not look good. I prefer we move him for a good pick, and then find a good backup PG, Kings fans will bitch, but I could see the Kings trading their pick and Udrih for Felton before or at the draft.

Well, that's the way it always turns out. If that attitude is accurate it just goes to show that any window to win in the NBA is very short. Carpe Diem amigos. Carpe Diem.

I have come to accept this situation. I don't blame Felton for wanting to start, even though he still gets starter minutes, he also realizes that this is Ty's team. I think he is being professional in the way he is handling it, he is willing to wait until the off season to ask for a trade and I think that is okay.

How many teams in the league would he realistically actually start on? I would guess its around like 5 right now...

That's the problem I can't think of many teams that would be in the market for a starting caliber pg. The league is pretty stocked with quality pg's at the moment.

Toronto would be one of those 5 teams.. but how much would anyone be willing to give up for him... he's going to be a FA after next season, so there's no guarantee he stays anywhere... also, with the landscape of the NBA unknown next season, it's better to have flexibility... I think a TPE and maybe someone like Bayless wouldn't be too bad considering it would save some money for the Nuggets to re-sign Chandler.

Get real, even in a limited market no team is going to trade a starter quality player for a TPE, a journeyman backup.

What if it was something like Amir and a TPE for Harrington and Felton?

But what happens if we draft Irving? Irving will start for us and Felton will be in the same situation.

I would not do that either, Harrington may be a bad contract, but if he can continue to play like he has the last few nights through the playoffs, he could generate interest on the trade Market. Amir has improved a little but I do not think he has improved enough to be taken off the bad contract list himself, he is getting $6 million per year for the next 5 years.

You get the 1st pick then I don't see the Kings trading it, although last I heard it was not a forgone conclusion that Irving was even coming out this year.

What about Felton-Kirk Hinrich swap? Decent defender, has a 3pt shot, wouldn't mind the bench role as he has played it before.
