Re: Draft Thread
we've got too many players.... need to do a 2-for-1 type of deal and get rid of two of our starters/important backups for one solid go-to guy..
there's not enough room for everybody to get into the game in such a short time.

are you from the future?
joking.
it's like 28 days from now or something, i want it to come sooner also. got a lot of european buzz going on this year. i'm very interested to see the talent growth over seas, or maybe this year is just once every 5-6 years deal.
it's refreshing to see the nuggs having a first rounder this time, in a while.

Nuggets set to hold predraft workouts at the Pepsi Center
Nuggets.com staff
The Denver Nuggets hold the 22nd pick in the 2011 NBA Draft on June 23. Nuggets executives Josh Kroenke and Masai Ujiri and the team’s scouting department have been preparing for the past several months, and they will take a closer look at draft prospects during workouts Wednesday and Thursday at the Pepsi Center.
Guards Iman Shumpert (6-6, 220) from Georgia Tech and Nolan Smith (6-4, 190) from Duke and forward Jordan Williams (6-10, 250) from Maryland are among those scheduled to work out on Wednesday.
Scheduled for Thursday’s workout are University of Colorado guard Cory Higgins (6-5, 185), as well as guard Charles Jenkins (6-3, 220) of Hofstra and small forward Travis Leslie (6-4, 205) of Georgia.
Please continue to check Nuggets.com often for stories, video and other draft-related content.

Denver has the No. 22 pick in the June 23 draft. One of the more intriguing prospects to work out Wednesday was Jordan Williams, a 6-foot-10, 250-pound post from Maryland. He was joined by guards Iman Shumpert of Georgia Tech, Corey Fisher of Villanova, and Smith, who helped Duke win the 2010 NCAA title, as well as forwards Nikola Vucevic of USC and Malcolm Thomas from San Diego State.
As the Nuggets work out players, they will look for the best fit at No. 22, but also consider lesser players for a possible spot on the training camp roster — whenever there is training camp. There's a possibility of a lockout July 1 when the new business year starts.
And these draft workouts aren't just for players. Karl brought in two retired players to get in some work as coaches. Former Nuggets Ryan Bowen and Darvin Ham are back in Denver this week.

Does Bowen fit the description of a character guy? If he doesn't, I don't know what does

christomasson Chris Tomasson
Tobias Harris told me Nuggets really like him. He said they also worked him out in mid-May before combine and wanted to bring him back today
Tobias Harris on revisiting Nuggets: "They’re showing a lot of interest. You never know what can happen (with possible trades)

he can play pf. He hustles and can grab boards. Something we could use off the bench. I wouldn't be mad if we drafted him.

Hi guys, T-Wolves fan here.
I really like Iman Shupert for you guys. Able to play both guard spots and probably SF in a small lineup, the kid is an athletic freak.

"That's why the last two years weren't guaranteed," Walsh said. "Either way, he knew it could have happened either way."

Tyler intrigues me, if we can get someone that knows how to get and keep young talent with head problems under control I think he could become a beast, he has all the physical talent. I would love for the nuggets to buy a late 1st or early 2nd and take the chance on the guy.

Re: Draft Thread
i especially like that he can play the center position.Geting him would give us mozgov as starter and tyler as a back up. They could split minutes. As for birdman, i like what he brings but if teams are throwing out offers for him, then i say we move him. Hes on the bad side of 30 and if a contender like boston wants some energy off the bench, then id trade him for their late first rounder.

Re: Draft Thread
"This week will be kind of the beginning of the intensity of the time," said Karl, who headlined the American Cancer Society's Hope Invitational golf tournament Monday at The Club at Pradera. "And it's fun because everyone is hopeful of our team."
Especially the coach.
Karl is convinced the Nuggets will get a quality player if they stay put and choose at No. 22 in the June 23 draft, but he isn't ruling out the Nuggets moving up in the first round.
"The bottom line is we have a first-round pick that we think is going to be a pretty good player," Karl said. "But the possibility of maneuvering and putting yourself in position to see what else happens is I think what (team management) is going to be doing in the next 10 days."
http://www.denverpost.com/nuggets/ci_18267736
George Karl is hinting at a draft day trade, if you read the entire article it sounds like the Nuggets really like Kenneth Faried. The last time the Nuggets liked someone they had to trade into the draft to get him (Lawsome), so I wouldn't be shocked if they do something to move up a few spots to get the guy they seem to want.
In the same article, GK goes on to say:
"Every once in a while you kind of fall in love with a guy that you think might be better than the rest of the league (thinks)," Karl said. "And sometimes you get lucky (and get) the guy everybody thinks is pretty good and gets pushed down to you. I'm excited about it."
It sounds like they are going to see how the draft plays out and if it looks like the guy they want might come off the board they are going to pull the trigger on a trade to get the guy they like. I wonder if they already have a deal in place in case it doesn't look like the guy they want will slip.

Same here. He also has the one thing that really scares me with Faried, height.
