Kenneth Faried Played In The Delco Pro-Am league.

Post#1 » by TA9 » Sat Jul 16, 2011 12:41 pm

What up!
From the Celtics board, just wanted to tell you guys something i saw about your Rookie, Kenneth Faried!
As some may know, Kenneth Faried played a game in the Delco Pro-Am league, and this is what Ryan Feldman (Hoops Report) said about him (He saw the game):

"Ryan Feldman: Kenneth Faried played in the Delco Pro-Am League tonight. Very unimpressive. Played most of the game, had 4 pts, 6 reb. That's it. Maybe Faried could've grabbed more rebounds, I don't know. But offensively he is so limited. Can't shoot at all, not even free throws. If Faried couldn't dominate in a summer league against a team full of former and current Penn players, how's he gonna do well in the NBA?"

Should this be a concern? I don´t know. I Liked Kenneth´s game, but maybe he just played against bad competition at Morehead state?
and heck i dont know why he brought this up himself..
"Chris Tomasson: First-round pick Kenneth Faried brought up on his own that he would be willing to play next season in the D-League if the Nuggets wanted it"

It was one game, I am not sure about the guy, but jumping to conclusions after one pro am game is a waste of time.

I'm not going to ride the guy after one bad game. Apparently, he's played pretty well in other summer leagues, so I don't think this game is very telling.

I'm also not as high on Faried as others on this board, but I think he's a very good value for a 22 pick.

Exposure Leagues, Pro-Ams, Tryouts, etc... anything where players aren't being coached up are going to be guard/perimeter dominated. They don't run much and they don't want to give the rock up to post players. I wasn't there so I cant speculate more than that but at a Pro-Am I wouldn't expect a lot of points out of Faried. I was at a NCAA sanctioned summer league and some of the D1 posts were bringing the rock up the court... you can't take stuff like this seriously.

Kenyon Martin was/is a headcase but he was also the enforcer/tough guy on our team. With his departure we really need someone that will come in and defend the other team's top post player relentlessly. It will be more than the just stat line for Faried... Rodman would get in Kart Malone's head... we need Faried to play good team defense and get in the head of the opposing team's best post. He doesn't have to stop Zach Randolph, but if he can make it harder for him each possession that would be a big help.
I like my prospects the same way I like my women... foreign- pickIBL

Im not going to get "worried" about what our #21 pick in a super weak draft did in a streetball game. Not at all.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but with Mirotic's performance in the U20 European tournament is he a guy we are gonna regret passing on? I know the wait will be long, but he could be special.

Mirotic is an interesting player, but he cannot get out of his contract for the next couple of years, if even then. Not to mention there are already rumors that he may not even really want to play in the NBA. Huge risk at this point if the Nuggets really are trying to compete now.

Aside from the Delco Pro-Am (which I have never heard of) it sounds like Faried has been killing it in the street ball games (drew league, freddets all star game).

Doesnt change my opinion of him as a prospect....I still think he is a hustle role player, but it just goes to show how stupid the OP and "Ryan Feldman" (who appears to be a pre-pubescent douche) are. Hope Ryan Feldma enjoyed his 35 seconds as a "sports reporter".

Faried recently had 23/17 against solid opponents as Byombo
