The more I think about it the more I see this as the perfect season to rebuild as it is a short season. The pain to the fanbase is pretty limited from Christmas to April. Additionally with the NBA lockout looming last year a bunch of players stayed in school. Even late in the lottery I feel like THIS year the Nuggets could get a real steal.
First and foremost the Nuggets need to use the amnesty clause in the new CBA to dump Al Harrington. Andre Miller's contract expires at the end of the season and maybe a team will need a big down the stretch and the Nuggets can unload Birdman... maybe.
It really all comes down to if Nene wants to come back to Denver. If he is gone there really is no reason to pay the wings (as much as I like some of them) to come back when the team can go through the draft this summer.
So really I'm fine if the Nuggets just carry the min. salary requirements next season.

this draft was going to be ideal for taking it easy but since the age limit has been enforced, i'm not so sure anymore.
this team needs to build some chemistry, they look lost right now. guys like gallo, chandler, mozgoz don't look like they want to stay.
i'm not so sure if k-mart or smith are even coming back. that's 5 guys off the top of my head that i'm worried about.
i'm just happy the season started.

ummm i have been hearing that the age limit will not be increased. Now theres alot of things i think the nuggets should think about doing.clockwork wrote:this draft was going to be ideal for taking it easy but since the age limit has been enforced, i'm not so sure anymore.

1) try to resign everyone and bring back the team from last year. which i think is a good idea to compete but i don't think that team will ever win a championship.
2) resign wilson chandler and trade him to the los angeles clippers for the minnesota pick. clippers need a good defensive sf and we could really use that pick or trade gallinari whichever one they want.
3) amnesty al harrington
4) resign afflalo
5) let nene go and let mozgov and faried play
6) essentially this team would not be very good but you never know what could happpen.
7) with two good draft picks in a loaded draft, we take advantage of our holes and draft two guys that could help us win.
8)my favorite player in this draft is anthony davis. pf with so much talent, he could truly turn our franchise around.
9) and for a center john henson. really skinny but has a tremendous ability to block shots.
10) my dream lineup for 2012-2013 season
ty lawson/?
afflalo/forbes
gallinari/jordan hamilton
anthony davis/kenneth faried
john henson/mozgov

the chances of any of this happening is miniscule...............
