If he had a choice, he would probably return to the Knicks, they need him more than Denver do and he loves NY.

If he did come back to Denver, and if wasn't until March, then he would have to work hard to compete for minutes as the team would already have great chemistry. He could fit in really well, or he could be detrimental to the team coming in that late and taking minutes from someone else who has been in the team all year.

Unless there is a major injury and a roster spot is available, I cant see him joining Denver.

Why would the Knicks need Chandler more then the Nuggets? Last I checked the Knicks had Melo and amare at SF and PF.

according to rgm knick fans, chandlers willing to take a pay cut and play for 2.5 or the MLE just to play in the concrete jungle where dreams are made of there's nothing you can't do in new yoooorrrrrkkkkk.

so in reality we should be able to trade him back to new york at the deadline for whatevers left of their roster that we didn't take before. landry fields, shumpert, and their first round picks from now until 2018 would be a good start.

According to the two Knicks posters on the general board who probably started following the Knicks after the Stat and Melo acquisitions. Any Knicks fan with sense knows he's a RFA and Nuggets will match any offer the Knicks can make.

Still not a fan of fields, but I guess I would take fields, shimpert, and their 1st, as long as they take Harrington back.

LMAO

Look, I agree that Wilson Chandler back to the Knicks this year is a long shot, mostly because he's an RFA, but there is no way in hell the Knicks will give up, or Denver will even ask for Fields, Shumpert and picks...

And take Harrington back????

LOL, c'mon...

your right I have a habit of underselling the return our front office gets from the knicks, after all people call me all sorts of names when I said what I thought it would take for Melo, and Dolan and Walsh coughed up even more then I thought they would. How bad do you guys really want Chandler back, because it will cost you a fortune?

2.5 mill after taxes is probably 1.6 mill. 1.6 mill prorated to the shortened season is probably around .7 mill. in nyc with the cost of living, .7 mill is more like 200k.

who can live on 200k per year!??! chandler cannot goto new york because he would have to live like a bum on 200k. i know he doesnt want that.

i dunno...have you seen the way the knicks do trades. if you just keep bugging them, they will do it.

"you want chandler? ok we want fields, shumperts and a number one!"

"pffft no way!"

"oh and we want you to take harrington!"

"**** that!"

"oh comeon....please!"

"no"

"pleeeeeeeeeeeese, comeon, we really want to do this deal!" (repeat 10 times)

"ok fine"

it doesn't really sound too farfetched considering what knicks have done in the past....

Looking at your team for first time as a Blazers fan, Chandler would be great fit for the Nuggets for your team got killed on the boards tonight. Having one more big body up front would really help the team hold its own physically for playing small is going to take it's toll later in the year.

Sorry, but we aren't trading Shumpert for Wilson Chandler. Wilson Chandler is a good 6th/7th man off the bench, but this Shumpert kid has a world of overall talent/potential.

On a side note, you all really didn't take anything away from the Knicks. We let go of an above average SF in Gallo for an elite, top 5 NBA talent in Carmelo Anthony. What a steal. Raymond Felton is no longer in Denver either (Portland) and Mozgov is an awful player averaging only 3.9 points and 3.9 boards per game as a 7'1 project Center from Russia. We've already upgraded over Mozgov during the 2nd round of the draft with Josh Harrellson out of Kentucky. The only player we "lost" was Wilson Chandler as a 6th man off the bench, but if it's true that Wilson Chandler is dying to return to New York, I'm not sure how much of a loss it is.

Sorry, I've never posted here, but I'm just sick and tired of fans talking about what the Knicks "lost" when we walked away with a future HOF player in Carmelo Anthony who's enjoying his prime/golden years. He's averaging 27.1 points, 4.3 assists, 6.5 boards and 1.1 steals per game. He's performing like an MVP and already has a game winning 3 which led to a win.

Now that Denver has already lost Raymond Felton to another team, if you all fail to lock up Wilson Chandler, the only team who lost something is Denver (Gallo is above average to good and Mozgov is just bad) because the Knicks walked away with a steal of a trade.

^^^^^^ are you serious.
1.) all of sudden gallo is just a mediocre player. well he is doing a pretty damn good job in denver and could become an all-star.

2.) after the trade denver has won more regular season games and more playoff games than the knicks, so in terms of which team had a better aftermath after the trade. it is denver hands down.

3.) raymond felton was not lost. we traded him for andre miller, a 1sr rd pick. also it should be noted that portland passed on kenneth faried because of this trade. so felton got us, andre miller, jordan hamilton and kenneth faried.

4.) harrelson is garbage.

5.) wilson chandler will be re-signed, but just like felton he will be traded on draft day to get us some young talent because he probably doesn't want play in denver.

6.) i didn't know stats were so important. who cares if carmelo scores 30 points a game. they have not beat one legit team this season, not to mention they signed tyson chandler with a horrible contract. amare is slowing down. melo had a better chance of winning a championship in denver.

7.) performing like an mvp? an mvp does it all, including winning and playing defense. knicks will never be a good defensive team as long as carmelo and amare are there.

Based on 8 games this season Melo is playing like a top 10 player, but stops ball movement on offense even worst than he did in Denver. And I also doubt he keeps up this level of productivity for the rest of the season and especially for the playoffs.

At the the time of the trade the Knicks offered a superstar package for a non-superstar player. Got to love how some Knicks fans also like to ignore the record of both teams post trade and the draft picks they traded, whilst the Nuggets became a better team and perhaps even better than the Billups-Melo WCF team. And then you forgot the fact that the Knicks could've kept some of the players they traded out and signed Melo in the offseason anyway, whilst the Nuggets should've had no leverage.

Felton was traded for a BETTER PG and a first round draft pick. Mozgov I agree is terrible but we needed another center so we took him (and Harrellson is not really playing much better than Mozgov this season). Wilson Chandler is coming back in March.

But by all means, enjoy being a 7th-10th seed team and winning only 50% of your games and barely beating the lottery teams of the East and thinking you won the trade.

this simple statement is all too over analyzed. anyway you argue whether it's on individual players accomplishments or team statistics or whichever other problems may affect the organization, there's one conclusion that you'll always inevitably come down to - and that's whether you win or lose.

it's great melo is putting up those 'golden' numbers but it doesn't really matter when your team isn't succeeding.

the knicks lost this trade because in the aftermath we have won more and you have won less.

Return to Denver Nuggets
