Minute distribution

Post#1 » by Ice32 » Sat Jan 14, 2012 10:51 pm

It's pretty clear that Dre wants out of here, his demeanour and productivity vs the Heat was pretty ordinary. You don't make those types of comments about not re-signing with Denver and then show it on the court, the dude just looks depressed, like he's "stuck in an awful place". The guy is almost 36 and plays 28 mpg, more than he would on any other team in the league (unless he wants to play for the Nets, Wizards, Raptors, Cavs etc).

I say shake up the rotation and give minutes to guys who deserve them - Brewer, Mozzy, Koufos, Faried, Stone. Miller surely should be on the trading block if he's so open about not being happy. Denver FO don't need that kind of cancer in the locker room. Yes he is still a great PG for his age, but we have guys 10+ years younger that are simply willing to give 100%. Some nights it appears that Dre just doesn't give a F**K. Here is my minutes distribution:

C - Mozzy - 16, Nene - 20, Anderson - 12
PF - Nene - 8, Harrington - 24, Gallo - 16
SF - Gallo - 18, Brewer - 20, Rudy - 10
SG - Afflalo - 28, Rudy - 14, Miller - 6
PG - Ty - 34, Miller - 14

I have Nene playing just 8 mins at PF as Coach Karl loves the 'small ball' lineup. Gallo looks more comfortable playing mins at PF and spreading the floor, worked well yesterday....if only he could make layups! The Rudy/Brewer combination off the bench is probably the most athletic/exciting one in the league - what a luxury to have, give them 20 mins each and they surely would not disappoint. I have Miller playing 20mpg, and eventually drop them more or trade him.

It appears there are several players playing with nagging/minor injuries like Gallo, Ty, Rudy - that will open opportunities for other guys. As sad as it sounds, I think the only way Brewer is consistently going to get 20 mins, is if someone gets injured. Coach Karl is just in love with Dre that minutes are scarce at the 2 and 3 spot. Sure Rudy is playing well and probably deserves 25 mpg, but Brewer brings so much energy to the team and his PER is reflective of that.

exactly what i was saying, miller steps on the court and drains out all the energy and takes away the tempo. he just does not belong here. he is holding ty back but most importantly afflalo. afflalo got a very generous contract from us, he better be playing 30+ minutes for us. miller just needs to go, playing 2 pgs doesn't make the team better it just makes us worse. we become a half court team and we don't want to be a half court team, we need to go out and run. at this point, whoever wants miller can have him, stone has shown he is more than capable of playing 15-20 minutes. and if wilson chandler returns than we won't have any room for miller.

ty lawson/julyan stone
arron afflalo/rudy fernandez
wilson chandler/ corey brewer
danilo gallinari/ al harrington
nene/ mozgov

now that is a team that can produce big time on both ends on the floor. if gallo is struggling with guarding a bigger 4, chandler can provide back-up help, which is one of his better abilities. even if you guys think this is a small team, we could simply adjust our lineup.
