i would put the odds of karl being fired this year at about 100 to 1. not only have the Nuggets front office (both kroenke and ujiri) made plenty of comments of how this team is in a reloading year and they felt the team was doing better then expected to start. Now with the injuries Karl has another built in excuse.

Karl might be choice by FO to coach our team during developing process but as our core guys develop and team add on some more pieces towards contender status then this team will need a serious coach.
I personally believe Chauncy would done better coaching at this moment than Karl

if Karl was going to ever be on the hot seat right now would be the time, they are 4-12 over their last 16 games, which would put them as the 4th worst team in the league if that would continue for a season. Yet you do not hear a thing about Karl being in any kind of danger.
Plus karl is not a developmental guy, i cannot think of a single talented young guy who has played for the nuggets since Karl joined the team that i would say maxed out his potential. i think they still view him as their long term coach, and they think this team is a year from contending.

Doubt they're willing to spend the bucks to dump him and add someone new. He's getting a pass because of the injuries.

Karl needs to be fired if he doesn't realize he is too quick to take Faried out of games.

And you don't think the fact that our entire starting lineup (AND a few key bench players) have been battling injuries has anything to do with that? Whether they were overachieving or not, the truth is that Denver was the 2nd best team in the West before getting hit by a tidal wave of injuries.
I've never been much of a Karl fan, but you can't put all of our recent struggles on him. I do think he has the right philosophy and strategy for this team to be successful, and there's not a better coach out there for this team.

He is a good regular season coach, below average playoff coach

I do agree that injuries have a part in the record that the Nuggets have, but i also see a team that struggles when the game slows down either in the regular season or the playoffs. Now whether that is the coaches fault or the way the team is built is up for argument.

They all have to be better... players, coaches, and even front office. You can't be a .500 team at home and expect to be a quality team? Injuries are tough, but let's be honest...I think the injuries have helped some... Faried has gotten some quality minutes and is developing - even Karl like him, but didn't play late in last nights game... Karl wanted this team, he should be on a watch... will he be? if they go .500 on this homestand... there might be some rumblings.

Tonite Karl done it again with his small ball lineup after watching proper line up made the game far from Boston's reach.
If it wasn't for Faried someone Karl glued to the bench most of the season due to his ego SAVED this team's potential poorly managed rotation break down loss in the final minutes of the 4th quarter.
Now J.Hamilton & Stone is rotting on the bench while Rudy chucks and Miller + Big Al get ridden to ground towards playoffs
Is this coach has any sort of a rotational strategy/plan or anything? Now that Nene is traded our half court offense so much there was before gone to whole new level & as much as i do not like Miller slowing game down, taking vacation on D, man is going to be needed in the playoffs more & i believe he will if used proper can be effective.
With Chandler's addition Karl is going to run out of all excuses not to strategically rest Al & Dre rest of the way playing less time.
GEORGE KARL - WATCH Continues.

George Karl's favorite player, Rudy Fernandez is too busy shopping at Hugo Boss -- instead of practicing 3 pointers...what a joke. Rudy should be shooting 3's all day and night until he gets better.

I am totally given up on Rudy, i have absolute 0 hope in Rudy to be some sort of a contributor for our team other than chucking and losing.

I will give it to Karl, He is a one coach in this league that is impossible to anticipate what line up he will play any given night. That is so special REALLY.

I am amazed how quite this thread is. You guys must love Karl.
Thibs is not happy in Chicago & there is small doubt i have on them to screw Thibs up but there is a chance for us to at least give it a try. Probably end up serving as a leverage for Thibs to get it from Bulls. Any thoughts?

I gave up on him when he chose AC on that inbound pass. He is very much to stick around rest of the year & i am praying everyday, every night to see him gone past this year. We need to have a right system and hard nosed coach for this young team to be disciplined to details consistently.

It has nothing to do with loving Karl, we can just face the reality of the situation. karl is not getting fired, no need to waste time hoping for something that will not happen.
Karl was business partners and friends with Stan Kroenke before he became the Nuggets head coach, which will get in the way of him getting fired by the Nuggets.
Add to that you have a situation where the team is rebuilding (not in a way that I like but just the same that is what they are doing), they over performed the 1st 20 games or so and then had major injury problems. Add to that the best player left on the roster is injured and has been out the majority of the last 7 weeks and most of the few games he did play in that time he played like crap.
Then you also traded one of your top 2 players for a prospect and cap space. Like it or not Nene to McGee was a huge downgrade, especially on the defensive end. Since the trade the Nuggets defense has went to hell, and the offense has had plenty of problems as well.
Fully healthy Josh Kroenke and Masai Ujiri were not expecting this team to be any better then they are, even before the Nene trade. Add in injuries and the Nene trade and this team is performing better then they expected. In those situations coaches get extensions not fired, right now I would spend my time hoping they do something to fix the roster and stop worrying about Karl he is here for at least another year.

The day I seen the team kind of lose it's heart was the day they traded Nene, and Ujiri and Kroenke were talking about this being a year to experiment as the team was not good enough to be a contender. There are plenty of examples of players not playing near as hard since that statement was made.
