Jordan Hamilton Potential

Hey Guys
I have been lurking RealGM for the past few months but i decided to post for the 1st time here, anyways my question is, Do you think J-Ham has the potential to become a starter in the league? or do you think he is nothing more than an energy guy off the bench?

welcome! nice to have some more nugget fans on here. As far as potential goes, it is pretty high. Unfortunately he will have to compete with guys like gallo and afflalo to get a starting spot. If he continues to improve than maybe one day he will overtake afflalo at the starting 2 but that is not likely since denver probably wants to utilize him as a sixth man ala jr smith. denver drafted him as a smith replacement and unfortunately i don't think he will reach his full potential in denver.

. Yeah i think Hamilton's potential is really high as well, and like you said he may not reach his full potential here in Denver, but if Karl plays him more he could develop a somewhat consistent game that can possibly take a lot of AA minutes.

I would love that as long as he does not have the same head problems, and I have heard nothing to indicate he has while in denver. I mean really without those head problems Jr is a $10 million per guy that can take over/ win games almost single handidly on both ends.

I would love that too. a JR Smith with a head over his shoulders is a really nice player

While Jordan Hamilton seems to be nothing special in terms of athletisiscm he grabs a ton of rebounds for his size and seems to have great offense and defense awareness. It is an era that each team needs decent backups and he could be a very good SF backup much better than Rudy F.

His shot is not steady. I believe as his career progresses his shooting percentage will be a constant value for the team

To me his game reminds me to a Danny Granger type of player, definitely not just a backup SF in the league.

So far he just looks so inconsistent. I really like his game though, athletic, great shooter (problem that he is extremely streaky), and has decent handles as well.

I feel if he works on his passing a little bit, and just keeps working at his consistency he could be a great scorer off the bench.

I just hope that he can keep his head right, and continue to work hard at his game over the off season. If he can play similar style to JR, just actually use his brain he could be a great asset.

His passing is fine to me. He is a willing passer too even in limited minutes.

Bucks fan here...I was wondering what the story was on Hamilton as well. With the big trade the Bucks just made we are looking for a bigger SG type player and was wondering if Hamilton is available. The Bucks don't really have a lot to offer (Delfino is expiring, maybe Shaun Livingston or Larry Sanders). Any interest?

He has looked talented but inconsistent, I would rather the Nuggets hold onto to him just to take a look at what he can develop into over the next couple of years, and I doubt the team would be interested in trading him for an expiring or guy who would not get off the bench for the Nuggets.
