Wilson Chandler Officially Re-signed(5 year 37 million)

Post#1 » by youngthegiant » Sun Mar 11, 2012 7:46 pm

Looks like ill will is set to make his return to Denver very soon. In fact he will be attending today's game against Memphis. His agent has also just tweeted.

Finally made it to Denver...4 Seasons in our future @wilsonchandler @cglsports @chrisluch @ Denver Colorado

Details are still unclear but it looks like they agreed to a 4 year deal.

Some people seem to think he's referring to the Four Seasons hotel in Denver.

Either way, it's good to know he's in Denver right now. Hopefully we'll hear something a little more official soon.

If this is true and he is joining the team, I wonder if a trade will be made this week to make room for him money wise?

Al has 27 mil left and Bird has 13.5 mil left.

Theres also Dre/Rudy/Brewer who could be bought out/traded/amnesty victims.

I doubt Gallo, Nene, AAA, Ty, Mozzy, KK, Faried are dealt.

Not exactly sure we need Chandler, but I guess more depth helps.

This year Denver has the lowest payroll they have had since 2004, I don't think they will have to make a move if they feel Chandler helps the team and they cannot get good value for the players they are sending out.

my thoughts on the chances of players being dealt/gone by next season:

1%> - ty, gallo, nene, aaa, faried
20%> - al, mozzy, koufos
50%> - hamilton, bird, brewer
75%> - miller, fernandez

assuming we're active through the deadline.

i'm not sure how karl feels about stone because we'd have that position covered if we were to trade miller.

i'm thinking this is what we should see the start of next season:

lawson/stone or a new pg
afflalo/chandler
gallo/harrington/brewer
nene/faried
mozzy/koufos/andersen

this roster setup is the only way it makes sense that all players are utilized for minutes played.

Boy, you guys sure are quiet over here.

Closure on all this should come soon....

“He can sign a one-year deal with Denver, but they’ve been adamant they’re not going to do that,” Luchey said. “It was easy for J.R. Smith and Kenyon Martin to sign when they came back from China because they were unrestricted free agents. Wilson only has a couple of options.”

While the unique situation has made negotiations rather difficult, Chandler and Luchey aren’t giving up on signing a long-term deal with the Nuggets. They arrived in Denver over the weekend to resume talks with Ujiri and Kroenke. If the two sides cannot work out a deal by Friday, March 16, Chandler will sit out the remainder of the NBA season and likely sign with another overseas team.

“The Nuggets have a nine-game home stand so Wilson and I are here to try to work out a deal,” Luchey said. “We looked at the schedule and noticed this stretch. Wilson wanted to come here and give this a real valiant effort. We want to try to get something done. We’re here until Friday and the Nuggets play on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. Wilson and I will be here for all of those games. Masai and I will resume talks either tonight after the game or first thing tomorrow morning. We’ll see if we can get something done.”

This thread is almost as misleading as Dwight.

The Denver Nuggets are closing in on a long-term deal with restricted free agent Wilson Chandler, according to sources with knowledge of the talks.

Sources said the deal could be completed as early as Friday.

"It's very, very close," one source said.

Final parameters are still being discussed, sources said, but one scenario on the table is a five-year deal worth in excess of $30 million with a team option in the fifth year.

5 year/$35 million would not be bad at all. But with the trade, we don't have any open spots on the roster so someone has to go. I'm guessing Turiaf will be bought out.

Very nice deal for the Nuggets, plus a very good contract were he's not over payed and doesn't hurt their cap room much. The only problem I see if the Nuggets have to many two guards now.One or two of those guys are going to have to go in the off season.

right now the Nuggets have exactly 2 sgs, chandler is far from a 2 guard.
