Gallo out possibly 2-4 weeks

Post#1 » by Ice32 » Tue Mar 20, 2012 10:52 am

With a fractured thumb on his non-shooting hand, Gallo could be forced to miss anywhere between 2-4 weeks. Our 7 game Road Trip starts this Friday and lasts for 2 weeks, so looks like Gallo will miss the entire trip. Lucky for Denver we play great on the road, especially against the East (4 games).

Now is the time to see what Wilson Chandler can bring to the table in a starting role, or GK may want him off the bench whilst he adjusts to the team. Maybe Brewer will get the starting nod at SF - but Brewer is a better player off the bench shooting and productivity wise. Chandlers effort today was ok, maybe he shot too many threes, but he looked active and brought something new to the team. Coach GK seems to think the Andre Miller will be ok, maybe his minutes will be monitored.

My projected minutes for the road trip:

C - Mozzy - 18, McGee - 20, Koufos - 10
PF - Faried - 24, Harrington - 24
SF - Chandler - 28, Brewer - 20
SG - Afflalo - 28, Rudy - 14, Miller - 6
PG - Ty - 34, Miller - 14

I think Denver can go 4/3, maybe 5/2.

As Karl's the coach, this is perhaps more likely:-

C Mozzy - 13, Koufos - 15, Harrington - 15, Faried - 5
PF Faried - 20, Harrington - 10, Chandler - 18
SF Brewer - 33, Chandler - 15
SG Afflalo - 30, Fernandez - 10, Miller - 8
PG Lawson - 35, Miller - 13

LOL Miller will get more then 21 mpg. Brewer you expect to stay around 20 mpg with those extra 13 minutes going to Miller, as Afflalo and Fernandez play PF a few minutes a game.

According to the Denver Post, Miller will miss the Pistons game and maybe a few more - he has a separated shoulder.

C - Mozzy - 18, McGee - 20, Koufos - 10
PF - Faried - 24, Harrington - 24
SF - Chandler - 28, Brewer - 20
SG - Afflalo - 30, Rudy - 18
PG - Ty - 36, Stone - 12

Very bad to lose Gallo back to injuries, however he can use this time to keep conditioning his body get sufficient rehab for his ankle injury & just keep shooting with cast on during the off time. He should be back in a decent shape, only bit of a game tune to catch on back when he gets back.

Chandler should do fine job in Gallo's absence and Brewer had been very solid player all for us. Not worried too much on this part.

FYI, Gallo yesterday told to an Italian newspaper that he should be back in 10 days. He is focusing on conditioning and strengthening his legs, right now.

This stretched rest is going to give him and upper hand when he returns. Just keep protecting that thumb till it heals completely in a meantime get a good rehab on the ankle and legs while keep shooting.
