Today the effort was there, but again we looked scared to start the game, we caught up, came out flat in the 3rd, we caught up, then let it slip away. A broken record. Harrington, Miller and Brewer were the only guys with a positive +/-
The turning point was the Ty Lawson outlet to Faried with 2:19 left with Denver down 95-91. Faried fumbled it, Kobe stole it, Bynum dunked and hit the freebie. So instead of it being 95-93, it was 98-91.
I think GK needs to make a change in the starting 5 and put Faried on the bench - maybe his energy will help the 2nd unit, because he is getting smoked by Gasol. I think Denver would do better by spreading the floor and having Gallo play PF and insert Brewer at the 3 spot (only because Harrington doesn't like to start games). Or start Mozzy, McGee and/or Koufos together, and bench Faried.
Also, what the hell is up with Afflalo??? He is 7/23 FGs, 0/8 Threes with 5 TOs and 20 pts.
Ty was much better today and aggressive, Gallo shot horribly and made some bad plays.
Brewer is playing at a high level and is averaging 12 ppg on 61% shooting.
Whilst Harrington is shooting woeful, his impact on the court is good.
Denver could have won today, and I think with some minor adjustments, can win both at home. Game 3 is a MUST WIN.
