Hello Denver fans,

I know this was a battle for all seven games and I am "pissed" to say the least that the Nuggest lost to the Lakers. I write this post stating that Shaquille O'Neil has stated that Mcgee will be working with him in his camp. I am a fan of Mcgee as I see where his abilities can take him, but notice quite a few members fan camp sided highly differently so I kept my comments to myself. Right now I hope he continues to become a great center here and helps this franchise take over in the west.

I wish Denever love next year as this season was shorten with no real training camps, but next season all bets are off. The west will be Denver, OKC, LAL, Lac and the wolves. Enjoy the next year west cause your well better off than the east is. Now back off to the Orl forums..... :-?

I personally would rather have McGee spend some time with Hakeem, but I don't know if he can make that happen. Either way the more help Mcgee gets the better off he will be, he has the talent and effort just needs to improve his BBIQ and skill.

I hope McGee learns how to use his length in a more productive way. He relies too much on his jumping ability to get blocks, but with better timing he could just take advantage of his incredible length to deflect shots.

Just look at what KG is doing now, doesn't have explosiveness in his legs anymore but still blocks a lot of shots.

This.

Although Shaq is nice Hakeem is more of what Mcgee needs.

I think after we deal with his contract situation, FO may do some real moves to try to get him a big man coach. Hakeem would be awesome.

I really am excited for McGee and Faried to get a full training camp with the nuggets training staff. That coupled with McGee training with Shaq I hope we see a lot of improvement next season.

I haven't kept up with Denver much since the epic trade that removed Mr. Ego this year as my other team has been the center of attention as of late. Honestly i would also like if Gallanire (Did I spell this correctly) would pick up on his patience and shot selection under pressure. I notice in the fourth quarter against the Lakers he was shooting too quickly and should have waited for a batter shot down the clock.

I do not agree with the star player being needed here as a team this franchise can really abuse the west. I am also a OKC fan as well as I liked how OKC and Denver banged it out last year. OKC biggest weakness that I hope Denver learns to Target is Westbrooke's ego. If we disturb him and take away his focus this team will make west feel what memphis made LAC feel. I understand we lack size, but I wish Denver would have focused on their hand eye coordination on the big men. Like in that 2.1 seconds it is taking the big man to rebound and bring the ball down for them rip the ball like Iverson would. Keeping that up and the hopes that flopping is removed or fined that would destroy a defense over four quarters.

Just wanted to let you guys know that McGee was in Houston today along with Stoudemire getting tutoring sessions with Olajuwon. The local news in Houston showed some clips, but it is not posted anywhere on the net. McGee is wearing blue shorts. The only one posted so far is this short clip:

thanks for the link, there is some pictures and such from the workouts in the offseason thread I believe, also Faried is supposed to be on his way down there, with a possibility of Mozgov as well.

Hakeem could still play 10-15 minutes a game and dominate 90% of the centers out there.

Scary. And kinda tells you how much the big men quality level went down.

Here is a longer video during Houston newscast, but it only shows McGee(blue bball shoes) listening and observing...there is a separate cameraman there to tape the sessions, so maybe the video will actually be released at a later date.

same site....but article on Mcgee

HOUSTON (FOX 26) -

Denver Nuggets 7-foot center JaVale McGee has already impressed Hall-of-Fame center Hakeem Olajuwon in the short time they have worked out together in Houston.

Olajuwon, who knows a thing or two about what it takes to be an NBA star, believes the sky is the limit for McGee, who finished second in the NBA last season in blocked shots, averaging 2.16 per game.

No question, I see him as another star," Olajuwon said in an interview with FOX 26 Sports. "That guy should dominate the league.

"He has tremendous talent. I give him all these moves and he can finish and he's already skilled. So now just show him how to use that skill to (get) to the next level."

he does have a more flowy game for a big man, thus better to work with hakeem than shaq.

for him it's mostly about establishing moves/position that take you to the rim rather than getting bumped and going away from it.....as well as a better touch on the little 3-6 footers when there's contact.

being athletic, and tall, with long arms....he's got everything going for him. as opposed to nene who had to work twice as hard to get the same looks because of his lack of size.

i think McGee has the most upside of all the young centers in the league. His size and wingspan are freakish...seeing him in the playoffs was a joy....especially those reverse palm dunks....hopefully, hakeem concentrated on helping him alot with post defense too.

McGee only lacks BBIQ, but overall he has a great future if he keeps putting in alot of hours.
