i had it down to three teams ever since the rose injury; heat, thunder, and spurs, but now bosh is gone and i don't feel as confident anymore. if any of you were watching today's mia/ind game, it's obvious that the heat are frustrated, example; wade's flagrant. do you guys think that's going to continue throughout the series or was this just the first game without bosh and they just had problems adjusting properly? there's only so much two players can do, but i still see them taking this series in 7 games.
yesterday's okc/lal game was a good indicator for us to how much we need to improve to compete with the top team in the west. maybe this game was like our game 6 for okc, but we still didn't beat the lakers by nearly 30 points. i can't say we weren't responsible for squeezing them to their last breath so this first game may look to be a bit lopsided. i expect an intense series, if not, the lakers will need to make a big move to stay relevant.
spurs are my favorites to win it all. they have the perfect balance between experience and young depth where combined with a hall of fame coach they can strategically outplay anybody. their biggest challenge will be the thunder, assuming all goes right with the clips. to me, pops is just as scary an opponent as the players he coaches. at this point with parker, duncan, ginobili, and jackson still playing at a high level, it goes to show the value of experience and veteran leadership. they're not an exciting team by means of comparison to the heat or thunder, but i just can't see them making too many game costing mistakes.
the cold bloodedness of the spurs will prevail!
