Anyone have any insight as to why Evan Fournier isn't playing for the French National team in the Olympics? Did he just not make the cut? I think this would have been a much better experience for him over Summer League

Didn't make the cut. He played in a weak French league as well.

I would guess age has a little bit to do with it since he is only 19 and most of their players are in their late 20s. They also have some pretty good guards/wings in Nando De Colo (new Spur), Nicolas Batum, Mickaƫl Gelabale, Yakhouba Diawara and Fabien Causeur. I'm not too concerned that hes not on that team yet, but he eventually should if he can live up to his potential. The kid has some talent and playmaking ability.

Yea I wouldn't read too much into him not making the team at 19 but if you can't beat out Diawara I can definitely understand those that question should he be an NBA first round draft pick.

I think we reached on him big time. Total definition of project. But hopefully this season he'll get some run.

He wasn't in France during the preparation because of draft + SL, so he couldn't do Olympics.
We'll see next year, but ther is a lot of young and talented players for the last guard spots : Beaubois, Fournier, Albicy, Westermann...
