Nugget you are watching the Closest....

Post#1 » by Powder Blue » Fri Oct 12, 2012 3:51 am

Not asking your favorite player, I'm asking what players progress you are tracking the most as the season draws near. No answer is right or wrong, just curious to hear what the fan base has to say.

For me it's Wilson Chandler. I feel he was the second best player we got in the Melo trade (Gallo-Chandler-Felton) and could maybe be the best.....but the problem is we haven't seen dude play! His performance in the the games directly after the trade was promising given the situation, then he slumped in playoffs. After his stint in China there was tremendous optimism when the Nuggets were working to get a deal done...then once it happened he got hurt.

The Nuggets and his agent feel he's worth about $6 mil a year. I'm anxious to see that. Is his D really as good as advertised? Can he get/stay healthy? Can he create his own shot and provide solid bench scoring? Will he knock down some 3's? Can he challenge Gallo or Faried for a starting spot?

Lots of questions surround Wilson Chandler and i'm looking forward to seeing them answered.

i'll be watching iggy for his impact defense. honestly, igoudala looks like a **** beast physically, it should be frightening for an opposing player to go up against him.

mcgee to see his improvements over the summer working out with hakeem. hopefully he surpasses the deandre jordan genre.

gallo whether he can consistently score on a nightly basis.

I want to see Jordan Hamilton, watching him he reminds me so much of JR, only hamilton seems to have a brain. If he can develop he may by one of the best players on the roster in a year or two.

I also want to see what happens with McGee this year, he seems to have put in the work I want to see if he will ever reach that potential he has.

for me... Danilo

McGee is going to come off the bench with Andre Miller to babysit him so I think that should work out fine. I think Karl plans to give any additional minutes to Fournier over hamilton right now (pre-season of course so that could change). Iggy will be interesting to watch of course because he is the new guy fitting in.

But to be contenders Danilo needs to have a big season and become a closer down the stretch.

mainly mcgee & iguodala defensively.

see what sort of impact/energy/leadership iguodala brings on that end. and see if mcgees rotations are smart enough to keep him on the floor.

want lawson & gallo to step up more offensively, so i'll be looking for that too.

Well, noone. I wonder how Iggy will change the defensive tone. How Ty performs in last minutes of close games. How much crazy things JaVale shows. How many times I scream at Brewer for being stupid. How much Gallo dissapoint us. Tough to point to anyone.
Well I choose Faried. I wonder if he's just energy/hustle/crazy highlight guy or he can show more of basketball skills.

I'm going left field - Corey Brewer. I think he may have a great year (being a contract year). Already in the pre-season he's shooting the lights out - 20 ppg on 71% FG, and I don't read too much into that, but I think his confidence and attitude is sky high - he really wants to be here in Denver and the coaching staff love his energy and attitude.

I think realistically, if he averaged 18-22 mpg, he could average double digits in scoring, he just needs to hit that corner three consistently and do what he does best - run and dunk.

Looks like McGee, Gallo and Iggy are high on most folks radar....no votes for AC?
