Hello from Spain.
I'm noob writing on this board, but i was reading for a year or more.
Usually i love to watch Denver because is a very funny team. They addicted me!
I was very pleased with the Iguodala's coming, and his game abilities was fine in the last December
He had a very huge impact on the ball movement, getting very good shot positions and making assist (i remember games with 8 assist).
But in the last games, i saw him very very poor in everything that he did on the floor.
He attacked very bad, with forced shoots, and didn't get responsibility moving the ball in the offence.
Last night vs Wash, it was a pain watching the 1st quarter where only Gallo tried to make something in the offence. Igy was disappeared.
and, it can be my perception, i think he was without his usual positioning in the defence.
He always was a very good perimeter stopper, but now i think he is out of concentration....
It seems like he is in preseasson learning the moves or something, but without energy and smile in his face
I'm very worried, because Lawson doesn't seem like the guy that the last seasson was, and Gallo can't move the ball, attack the basket and get large shoots in every possession that he is on the court with Igy and Law (of course, the 3rd quarter vs WSH, Lawson looks pretty well again)
Is Iguodala happy here?

Re: Igy's lastest games
Welcome to the board Darivo!
If we are talking about Iggy's recent games, look at his last 5:
Mins - 32.0, .327 FG%, .176 3PT%, .467 FT%, 2.8 rebs, 4.4 asts, 2.6 stls and 8.4 pts
Compare that to Brewer who plays about 10 fewer mins and is 12 million cheaper than Iggy:
Mins - 24.4, .463 FG%, .333 3PT%, .600 FT%, 3.4 rebs, 2.0 asts, 1.0 stls and 13.2 pts
To me, Iggy is just lost in this system, he doesn't know where he fits in, he looks complacent most games, he doesn't have a great variety of offensive moves, he carries the ball a lot, he travels, he takes contested shots, he dribbles, then stops in the key looking to pass, his threes and FTs are way off. I'm not sure that he is a massive improvement on defense, he may get steals but he also gets many turnovers. With Iggy on the court, he takes away the focus on Ty and Gallo who are the leaders of this group.
Overall, Iggy plays 10 mins per game more than Brewer, but only scores half a FG more and one extra FT. Sure he is a better playmaker than Brewer, but CBrew too me has more energy, emotion and heart.
If we are going to give Iggy 16 million next year and possible more years after that, it will mean we lose the likes of Brewer, and possibly Faried in the future, because of cap space. Ty, Gallo, McGee, Iggy, Chandler, Dre alone make up $58,932,356 of our $72,000,000 salary next year and I can guarantee that Denver FO wont want to pay any tax at all.
To me it makes sense to trade Iggy now for a proven PF with a post game.

Re: Igy's lastest games
Comparing Iguodala and Brewer is like apple and oranges.
For starters, Iguodala plays against starters and guards the other team's elite players. And in terms of FGA per minute, Brewer shoots way more than Iguodala does.
As far as advanced stats goes: http://stats-for-the-nba.appspot.com/teams/DEN.html Iguodala is still one of the best defenders in the league and is only one of three players on the team that is a plus in offense and defense.
That said, looking at those RAPM it makes me sad how worthless defensively the bench is.

I was just comparing the 2 for the sake of this post...I know they are different players, I was just highlighting their last 5 games individually
The link you posted doesn't work, but I'm sure Iggy is the better player in several areas obviously.

Re: Igy's lastest games
well, the main problem are the salaries of Iguodala, Lawson, McGee......
i think you can't pay 15 millions to Iggy with his latest games. But it's the same to Lawson & McGee.
Brewer isn't good than Iguodala, but his salary is lower too.
Is very bad for the whole team see Iguodala benched for the real minutes against a REAL contender like OKC. Same situation with McGee.
We have until trade line to define the roster and get the players that Karl wants (!!!!!) to play his style
