They will probably let it expire unless the get a young player with a cheap contract, or some considerable incentive to use it.
As for taking Kaman for free, maybe you have not paid attention over the last few years, the Grizzlies just gave up 2 decent prospects, a rotation big, and a 1st round pick to dump $6 million off their cap this year, so given Kaman makes $8 million and is an average starting big I doubt the Mavs have the assets to get the Nuggets to take him back as they do not even have their 1st round pick this year and I am not all that impressed with any of their young prospects.

I wouldn't make that trade. Not even if Dallas included a 1st.
And it's LAUGHABLE you think Kaman is worth a 1st. Actually, you think he's worth a 1st, 8m of the TPE, lux tax payments, AND forfeiting the full MLE this summer. Give me a break, dude.
