We need a sharp shooter like Peja Stojakovi?

Post#1 » by Yoga » Mon Feb 11, 2013 10:02 pm

JJ Redick is the best one currently on the trade market. I remember how much of a difference Peja made to Dallas playoff run a few years ago

You cannot win in the playoffs without decent 3 pt shooting

Agree and we have lost about 10 games this season due to poor shooting, and if nothing has been done about it so far, I doubt anything will be done this season.

The sad thing is, we have a great young shooter that is rotting on the bench and he can do way more than shoot.

I don't think it is quite that simple though there is a shooter on the bench. Thinking from a coaching perspective we don't have a good low post option and our bigs arent stretch guys either. So that would certainly help overall.

With Lawson, Iggy, Gallo on the floor it'd be nice if we had a stretch big... or at least a big that commands a double team in the post. when you consider what would make the Nuggets flow better and lead to better looks... you must consider that. I don't think we must have that low post option... but if we don't then I think we need a big that can knock down that J. To me it is one or the other and we have neither.

I'd say we are best off going after a big that fits well with Faried. Even if it means we gotta give up something we might not want to (like Hamilton... though I'd hate to see him go). I mean look what Sonny Weems is getting done in the EuroLeague. 44% 3P shooting 89% FTs. He's killing it... so a guy like him would be great to replace Brewer next year.

We lose our backup 4 doing that deal.

Brewer + Hamilton for Redick makes more sense since both would lose their rotation minutes on Denver and Hamilton is better than a late first which is what Orlando wants.

James Jones would be a great addition to your team if you weren't so stacked with SF's. I'm a Heat fan myself and am baffled how he doesn't get more minutes for us, since in my opinion hes the best shooter on our team.

Where do you think the 3pt shooting would benefit most at for you guys? The PF position to stretch the floor?

we already have a 3pt shooter, with good defense

Hamilton needs to get more minutes (please reduce Brewer&Miller minutes!) like vs Nets

Hamilton and good defense? Man you're crazy... His rotations are on Randolph/Fournier level. Maybe even beyond.

hamilton could shoot 80% from 3 for the remainder of the season and karl still wouldn't trust him for more than garbage minutes.

Hamilton defended Johnson and Gay much better than Brewer did.

And tbh, we need to get a shooter in the rotation bad. Trading out some of Karl's rotation players or trading in a proven one that he would use would make this team about 5 wins better.

i'm very sure that Brewer has an overrated defense.

Yes, he is very quickly with hands, but he loss his defending position too many times.

I saw Hamilton better on this in the last game against Raptors.

I know Hamilton isn't that good as Wilson, Gallo or Iggy defending, but he shows me more than Brewer or Dré Miller

I hope Karl give him 3 or 4 games in the rotation

I have not seen any trade rumors about Denver interested in a shooter like JJ Redick. Only about Mozgov being traded for a 1st rounder....that is a cause for concern.

I could see this team losing in the 1st round again, if they do not make an upgrade in the 3 pt shooting department

Denver needs a legit post player in the half court offense....Pau Gasol would have been nice before his injury.

Lack of 3 pt shooting + no post player + George Karl's coaching/roations in the playoffs = 1st round exit

There were some rumors about the Nuggets having interest in Redick prior to their winning streak, however the Nuggets seem to keep their names out of the rumor mill for the most part, and have since the Melo fiasco. Fact is I am sure they are working on something with Mozgov, Miller, and Chandler having made comments or tweets showing they are not all that happy right now.

I would think the target is going to be someone who can shoot, or a better veteran leader. Fact is Hamilton is the guy the Nuggets need off the bench but for whatever reason Karl will not play him and let him work through his young player mistakes, while he ignores the mistakes some of the older veteran players make all the time.

• Denver is fairly content with its current lineup, as the Nuggets have been one of the hottest teams as of late. But the possibility exists they could make a smaller move at the deadline by dangling rotation players such as Wilson Chandler, Corey Brewer and Anthony Randolph.

• The Nuggets supposedly wouldn’t mind adding Orlando guard J.J. Redick, whose contract expires at season’s end. But sources say conversations involving Redick have all but disappeared after he indicated he wants to stay with the Magic.

Well I for one would be disappointed with the same rotation post ASB.
