The Nuggets are fast approaching the playoffs. This is where it counts. We have almost a completely different roster then we had 20 months ago when we traded Carmelo. We are within shouting distance of the Nuggets franchise record for wins in a season, and obviously broke the franchise record for win streak.

Who wants George Karl fired now? He is probably in the top 5 candidates for coach of the year.

With all this regular season success he better get out of the first round if he wants a job to come back to. Otherwise I'm sure the F/O is in love with Hoiberg as it seems everyone else is.

A coach can't win games. If the nugs don't get out of the first round then it will be as much Lawson/Gallinari/Faried's fault.

How can you argue that he should be fired under any circumstances when he is being considered for coach of the year? Why do you discredit his success? Almost as though the Nuggets win in spite of him. Pretty harsh considering nobody expected us to be at this level so soon and with so much roster upheaval. It is laughable to me how some forum posters are far superior experts on player rotations then a future HOF coach.

Karl has had over 110 players in his time in Denver, is it all those players fault that they only made it out of the 1st round once, or could it be in game adjustments, lack of changes to game plans, or bad substitution problems? Is Karl totally blameless?

I have never been in the fire Karl camp since the better options all have jobs, but it really is funny to me how so many seem to either love or hate him. With those in the love camp blaming all the teams problems on everybody and everything else, and all the hate him blaming him for everything. Fact is both the players and the coach deserve plenty of blame, however I do not think Karl survives another one and done.

You are proving my point. Karl has had 110 players in his time in Denver. How is it the coaches fault when there is so much turnover? A sign of a good coach is being able to take a bunch of different players and make them work together, But that doesn't mean that you expect them to get out of the second round, when they have never had the talent or home court advantage. It's easy to justify why I think Karl is a good coach. Over 1000 wins in the nba. How many consecutive winning seasons now? So there are lots of statistics to show that Karl is capable of winning games in the nba. However, criticism is based on subjective judgements or sub patterns. To be honest, I'll trust the guy who is the hall of fame coach, and not a forum moderator. My eyes tell me that Karl is no nonsense coach in the Popovich style. Get on board, or get off. It's part of the reason the Nuggets are as successful as they have been. Hard to argue with the scoreboard.

How has that scoreboard looked in the playoffs? Its funny I am one of the few that have not been calling for Karl's head for the last few years, but lets look at reality instead of drinking the koolaid. Lot's of coaches get wins, especially when they are coaching stacked teams, I mean really if the goal is to be average then Karl is your guy, fact is more then half the teams in the NBA make the playoffs every year, when you have the type of talent Karl has, one run outside of the 1st round is disgusting and a failure, to call a talented team with a high payroll, failing to get past the 1st round successful is also disgusting, Karl is a good coach, but he is far from a great coach, and to argue otherwise is stupid, after all how many championships has he won? How many players has he fueded with? How many teams has he been fired from?
