Gallo or Chandler?

Maybe it's not fair that this debate is only starting now but i'm taking Chandler...

Chandler is shooting better, rebounding better and playing much better defense....plus he's paid 4 million less. They both sit with injuries, Chandler a little more but he's healthier now. Gallo is averaging more assists albeit with more minutes.

For two seasons I've been waiting and hoping for Chandler to produce like this and he finally is. He's the best two-way player on the team. Chandler, Lawson, Faried should be the only 3 non-tradable players in this off-season.

Interested to hear the arguments for Gallo

Gallo is like a much better player in every statistic.

3% Gallo .379, Chandler .398

Rebounds Gallo 5.2, Chandler 5.0....in 9 less minutes

I'm happy with either, and hope to use one to package with other players for a superstar. If Rose, Love, Aldridge ever become available via trade then one of these two would likely be used as an asset. I've always been in favor of a Gallo/Faried or possibly Chandler/Faried/Mozgov for Love. I'm interested to see how the whole team reacts in the playoffs before thinking about it too seriously though. I'm interested to see who steps up and performs under pressure.

Despite the fact that I was a Nuggs fan, I was following the Knicks too when Gallo and Chandler were there and I can tell you one thing: every day the Knicks forum was full of flames on the Gallo vs. Chandler debate.

Now they are finally in Denver you ask the same question, but let me explain you this: they play for the same team. There's no need to argue who is better, Gallo brings something to the table that Wilson is not able to do and viceversa, but I really don't see the point of this since they are teammate.

It's obvious that trading one of them would be a mistake.

Sorry about this post but after years of this debate I got tired of people trying to put a player over someone else, especially in a team-oriented system like the Nuggs one.

Peace and Love.

I like kevin love, but I don't think he is a superstar, I would not trade any of those combos for him..

While I actually like Chandler better, with his health issues I just do not feel comfortable with having him as the primary SF without higher quality depth then 3 virtual rookies.

Gallo. He's extremely underrated, and frankly, underutilized.

That said I'm happy with both, and I'd be happy with either one if a trade presented itself that involved Gallo or Chandler.

I agree that the Nuggets should continue to acquire assets through the draft and basically stand pat and wait for a "star" to become available. I am good with McGee being on the block. Maybe even Iggy. But I say we hold on to our assets until that trade opens up. Keeping the roster as it is seems to be paying off right now.

Goodbye mozgov and brewer... hello new draft picks. That's how I see this summer going... unless a harden type deal comes up. I don't think we can pluck Barnes from the Warriors... but I could be open to Klay Thompson if it meant McGee going out.

Based on the same question when they were both Knicks...Gallo is the better player, but the question makes sense consider how good Chandler can be.

Both are injury prone. Gallo takes longer to get the flow of things, Chandler is a more instinctual player. Both are streaky shooters, but when Gallo gets going it tends to last longer. Chandler is the better bench scorer and is more easily encouraged to drive. I actually think Gallo is the better defender between his length and intelligence, but Chandler is a bit quicker, they are both above average defenders on their days

As much as they are rarely good on the court at the same time, they are good compliments.

Take a look at their scoring efficiency, not just this year (though Gallo leads this year as well), and look up some +- stats. Gallinari is better at every single facet of basketball, minus maybe rebounding. He's also a much better team defender, no wonder synergy has Gallo as a better defender than Igoudala, and if i remember correctly he's 2nd on the team in +-. Gallo is a better basketball player than Chandler, point, blank, period. It's not even debatable, unless you know nothing about basketball, and cite boxscore stats, like you did.

Gallo is 100% the better player, but you have to recognize what Chandler brings to the table too. He's more aggressive offensively which is better for this team. His passing is improved, his 3pt shot is improved, his shot selection is improved, etc. He makes 2/3 what Gallo makes.

I'm very happy with Gallo & Wilson.

And I think Gallo can guard LeBron (like he did with Durant)

But Wilson is great defender also, and he makes 'easy' layups (TANK layups)

Maybe the question is Iggy or Wilson (by contract situation)

Oh, no question about it, he's an awesome bench player, could play on any team, and be a great bench contributor. Could probably start on a handful of teams and be effective. But as you said, Gallo is simply the better player.

gallo with chandlers aggressiveness lately would be by far the better player.

but he lacks that, and it baffles me.....so WC's aggressiveness seems to have a more positive impact on the team.

Of course all the money-ball statistics are going to point to Gallo being the better player because he has played more of the season than Chandler and a portion of Chandler's play he was working back from injury.

Do you actually watch the games? Do you see Chandler driving the lane, fighting for rebounds and playing superb D? At the same time do you see Gallo continuing to settle for jump shots when his shot is not falling and failing to drive to the lane and create contact which would get him to the line. As Corona eluded to Chandlers agression as of late has him making much more impact in Nuggets games.....but you actually have to watch games to recognize that.

Gallo has also failed to show any improvement in his game during his time in Denver. At least Chandler and Lawson are stepping up and earning their contract extensions, the same can't be said for Gallo this season.

I'm a fan of both. They both bring a lot to the table. There is no question to me however, that the better player is Gallinari. Chandler is the better mid range shooter and the better rebounder, but that is it.

I like Wilson but Gallo is by far a better player. You must be simply happy to have both in the team.
