Nuggets fan? (Struggling with commitment right now)

Post#1 » by Wannabe MEP » Wed Apr 10, 2013 1:03 pm

Y'all don't have a community thread, so I hope this is kosher...

I'm trying to decide if I'm ready to go all-in as a Nuggets fan. The Suns and I have been separated for several months after a some really rocky years, but I'm just about ready to push the paperwork through and make the divorce official. (It's not just that they're terrible or that Nash left, although those don't help. It's that they completely abandoned everything that made them unique.)

Nuggets = sexy bounce-back fling?!?

I've lived in the Denver, Phoenix, and Portland areas, and I'm a moderate fan of all three teams, but now I'm geographically ambivalent. And style of play and team culture is really important to me. Which is why I love this current Nuggets crew. I just hope what they've got going now lasts and continues to improve.

  • -Faried is probably my favorite player in the NBA right now
  • -Huge Ty Lawson fan - went to UNC when he won us a championship
  • -Long-time fan of the dribble-drive motion offense; love how unique the Nuggets are in that, and how they destroy the rest of the league in points in the paint
  • -I like Karl and his emphasis on character and his willingness to think outside the box
  • -Love the pace of this team
  • -Love that this is the 4th best offense in the league despite having none of the superstar names
And so y'all know up front, I've coached some high school basketball and I'm a huge fan of advanced stats. I'll have some unique opinions that are sure to piss some people off.

You are welcome here, and I do not mind unique opinions, I am known to have plenty of them myself and am not the type to worry if everybody else disagrees.

If you're watching the dunkfest against San Antonio, there should be no question. Game's not over but they're killing it.

Return to Denver Nuggets
