Sympathies for picking Shaw ahead of Brown.

Brown? Who the **** is Brown?
Very happy with this move. Now the next question is what type of offense will he run?

second best news of the summer.... (first being karl getting axed)
i think he's gonna be an excellent head coach for the rest of his career, and a great coach for this young team.
another article on the hiring, with a couple quotes....

Oh sorry missed the news about Brown while I was at work. I like the due diligence interviewing 5 fairly solid candidates.

sounds like Shaw's not just gonna teach the triangle because he coached/played under phil jackson. gonna keep us a fast paced team while hopefully integrating a better halfcourt system that suits them.
sounds GREAT to me. loved the way the pacers played defense. instill that tact and young hunger in these guys....teach mcgee to be a true rim protector. then we're in great shape.
especially if miller gets traded before training camp.

Awesome. I do think it's a bit worrisome that he was passed on by so many teams, but he sure sounds like a great fit. If he can get McGee to play anywhere near as well as Hibbert did in the playoffs this year, we'll be in good shape. Can't wait to see what he can get out of the rest our young guys too.

Some back story on Shaw, http://sports.espn.go.com/los-angeles/n ... id=6516923
Personally I like the hire, and hope he does as well as expected.

Solid hire Nuggets fans, still piss we didn't hire B Shaw when we had the chance. If his work with George and HIbbert can translate to the Nuggets you guys will be ok.
As far as the Triangle it ain't for everybody to run. You really have to have the personnel to make it work.

Word is Brian Shaw looking at Bernie Bickerstaff, Jim Boylan and Tyronn Lue as potential assistants....may look at Alvin Gentry as well
— Chris Broussard (chris_Broussard)
Would anyone welcome Bernie back?

Not if they followed the Nuggets very long.
Hopefully it is just another thing that Broussard has wrong.

Thought Shaw was really impressive in his press conference today. Loved the things he had to say about our young bigs and I'm looking forward to seeing him implement an actual half court system on both ends of the floor.

Agreed, hopefully he gets the players to buy in, and is as good as he sounds, this could be a great hire.
