Do you think that Randolph might make the 1st game rotation

Shaw certainly seems to like what Randolph has done so far and if he is a straight shooter and not a B.S.er, that could happen if Randolph keeps it up to the last few pre-season games.

I think he definitely has more overall talent on both sides of the ball than Arthur and if he can show himself to be a consistently effective scorer, better than Hickson as well, particularly on D.

I think he'll play backup 3 to Chandler.

Idk after tonight's game. 3rd quarter defensively lax is back to what we had 3 years ago roughly....Randolph's serviceable but I get this unsure feeling when he's on the floor...

I think he plays briefly. Shaw wants to see what he can do in game situations.

Randolph has always been a good player in meaningless situations, he just cannot seem to handle much pressure. Also his defense is terrible, and always has been, which is the other reason he has always been glued to the bench. I am sure we will get a chance to see if anything has changed over the last few months, but reality is I am not too hopeful with him.

From what I saw this preseason, he showed a consistent touch out to the arc. I think he has definitely played himself into the rotation, sounds like he may even start tomorrow. Every team needs a good pick and pop big and he seems like he could be that guy for the Nuggets.

I may actually believe he could be a pick and pop guy, but I have yet to see him set a good screen. Also is a good big supposed to be playing SF? We have plenty of SFs that can set a better pick and have better range outside.

Are we talking about the perpetually injured Wilson and Gallo?

Of course those are two, but why not give Q. miller and Jordan hamilton the shot to start, both are natural SFs, both have range, and both can set a comparable pick if that is your big benefit for Randolph.

I have never made it a secret I am not a Randolph fan, I have always thought he was over hyped, his defense is terrible, and I hate the way he folds whenever there is the slightest bit of pressure on him. To me the unknown players like Miller and Hamilton is better then the known player when it comes to Randolph.

The odds are if Lawson, Chandler, Faried, Foye, and of course gallo are all out tomorrow than we are more probably losing, why not give the young unknown guys a chance to show what they can do in a real game, Hamilton looked decent last year, Q. Miller has had a decent preseason, I want to know what they can do.

Jordan Hamilton earned nothing but a permanent spot on the bench this preseason imo. What has he possibly shown you to say he deserves the chance to start?

If we go just off of preseason most of our starters should not be on the court at all, Lawson has looked like crap, Foye had 1 good game, McGee has not looked all that great, Gallo has missed the entire preseason, chandler may as well have missed the entire preseason, so the team is screwed.

Personally I watched every nuggets game last year, and Hamilton showed me much more last year than Randolph did, so if you are basing your starters on last year, then why not do it at all the positions?

So your argument is that since everyone looked like crap in the preseason it doesn't matter?

Randolph clearly was one of the best Nuggets this preseason and has earned the chance to start.

Jordan Hamilton did nothing last season either to say he deserves a shot, I would argue Randolph was more productive in the spot minutes he played last season. And why bring up last season like it matters at all? Shaw made it clear everyone was given a clean slate coming into this season. Randolph has shown he can be productive while Jordan has shown anything but, he has been a disaster.

Moma,

Randolph is not going to take this team to 57 wins, or even 45 wins. Even if he survives at the position, he's going to fold in the playoffs. As soon as he gives anyone a reason to have confidence in him, maybe that will change. What we don't need is any player that results in a resounding "meh" when he has a good game.

I'd rather have Boykins at SF than Randolph.

Please elucidate, clarify, or in any way de-mystify the above bolded comment.

Exactly what - AND WHEN - did Hamilton, whom I have nothing against - show anything worth talking about last year?
