Rotations

I was watching the nuggets game live at school on league pass and realised that brian shaw had lawson-Nate-YMCA dre on the court at the same time! Although this lineup seems odd, it actually worked! Andre was left open at 3 a couple of times and hot them both!

Secondly movgov should be our starter and center instead of mcgee. Movgov is so much more effective in the post and in general in the offense. Mozzy does not pick up the cheap little fouls like mcgee, he is always jumping on the pump fakes giving the other team 2 from the charity stripe.
If most fans remember, movgov and faried as starters back in the playoffs 2 years ago against lakers played really well againt an elite/healthy Bynum and pau. I would love to see these two back staring for the nuggets.

While I can see the point of starting Mozgov, I personally wouldn't do it. Reasons being is that I no longer believe that this team is good enough to make much if any noise at all in the playoffs. McGee has a terrible contract and we are stuck with him, so personally I would just start him and give him minutes to learn to play next to Faried for both their development.

I really have no idea why we signed Nate Robinson with Andre Miller on the roster. I always thought it meant that he had a deal in place to move Miller but imo that just screams to me that the FO really has no plan right now and just made moves for the sake of making moves (like signing Hickson in our deepest position and AFTER trading for Arthur).

Our SG rotation went from one of the best to probably the worst in the league. Fournier and Hamilton have been disappointing. Foye is not a starter in this league and if it were up to me, I wouldn't even play him.

My thought during the offseason was that if Shaw was able to get the team to equal our defense last year, we would be fine as our offense from last year but with 3pt shooting still would be amongst the elite in the league. But I really did not expect Shaw to kill the offense completely.

I know many hate it but with the Knicks having a bad start as well, it might not be a bad idea to gun for a lotto pick this year. I personally would make all the young players on this roster rotation players, so something like this:

McGee (25) / Mozgov (23)
Faried (30) /Hickson (18)
Chandler (30) / Q Miller (18)
Fournier (20) / Hamilton (20) / Foye (8)
Lawson (35) / Nate (13)

Remember that the worst of the Knicks pick and ours is owed to the magic

Or the players could stop being lazy in the half-court and keep moving.

Or the ball handlers could stop telegraphing passes.

Or the team could dominate on rebounding if they box out on key possessions.

I personally do not think they are being lazy, from what I have noticed is that nobody seems sure about what they are supposed to do. it seems there is a hesitation before almost every pass, before they make a cut, or make a move. Thinking and not reacting on a basketball court is the worst thing a player can do, but it should be somewhat expected that this stuff happens a little when there is a total change of system.

Completely agree. Players need to be able to bring focus based on knowing what they are doing......just cannot focus when those roles are too much in the gray area.

That being said, I love what Ty is doing last couple of games. He for certain does not need another year to figure out his role.

First of all, I am not being negative because I like to be negative. Tell me, with some evidence, why I am wrong.

With 2 of the team's best 3 players unavailable throughout the pre-season and Faried pretty much as well, it seems reasonable that Shaw should have been able to concentrate on getting the rest of the team at least somewhat up to speed with the new offensive and defensive schemes so that by this point they should not look more like it is the first week of October.

Either he and his coaching staff are doing a poor job or the majority of players are either dumbbells or not buying into his philosophy.

I'd really like to understand Shaw's thinking in giving PT. While Lawson, unsurprisingly, has been the consistent workhorse with his minutes continuing to increase and Foye has gotten consistent time also, most of the rest of the players have not.

In particular, Hickson - 33, 22,17, 22,14 - McGee - 10, 13, 21, 24, 12 - Hamilton - DNP, DNP, 23,16, 32 - Fournier - 21, 15, 9, 24, 7 - Arthur - 18, 16, 8, 5, 26.

If Chandler does come back next week and plays anywhere close to his capability and then Gallo is able to play in another 5 or 6 weeks, it will be interesting to see if Shaw will settle on 7 players to go along with Ty and those two in a consistent rotation.
