The Karma of Curry's Eyes

Post#1 » by pickaxe » Tue Dec 31, 2013 12:29 am

I remember reading about Karl ordering a hit on Curry to slow him down. Idk the validity, but Karl is gone and so is Iggy.

I remember reading various posts from rabid Nugget fans in different forums suggesting taking out the pretty-boy's eyes was the correct basketball move given his untameable zone and unbreakable focus.

All the while I did not get the sense that Karl would be upended with this tiny blight on his poor postseason adjustments. Nor did I see Iggy somehow finding justification for his flea jump over to our postseason opponent.

Then, Shaw issues an edict for the team to be smashmouth. Not only is the team not smashmouth, but we regressed to the unsuccessful undersized PF strategy that plagued the team for many of the Melo years.

These are all miniscule details that don't deserve a second thought.....until you realize that small details add up to derail big plans.

Two small things need to be established alongside the bigger picture: better established sportsmanship to demonstrate that no one is trying to take anyone out or at the least is not trying to subtly threaten another team with non basketball moves. Hard fouls ok, intentional injury not ok; and then better established identity .......why we changed so much after just being weak in 2 areas shooting and coach adjustments.

Establishing positive energy in what this team IS will continue to evade us and make us ask questions about the team direction. I think Iggy gets to keep a chip on his shoulder to make him unnecessarily edgy while playing for GS. Karl is vindicated with every Shaw loss.

And how this began from less than acceptable sportsmanship is exactly how it will plague this team until it is firmly reestablished. Denver's identity should be a hard-nosed team that wears you down but shakes hands afterwards.

At least in Curry's eyes, to bother his clear shot.
